Kiama night away and meet up

Week off 20th July was not the best week as had hurt my back and shoulders somehow and even heat rub didn't help. Also my personal trainer couldn't help it with and unfortunately my personal trainer Lauren was her last day on Wednesday so will have a new one next week. Also was a busy week at work and in charge for a few shifts as acting NUM on study days and then an RDO (rostered day off) on Friday. On the Wednesday was a 1 year birthday party so their did a BBQ for everyone but foolish did it at 12 so nurses couldn't go. As unfortunately that our busiest time and by the time came for us to get food was none left luckily cooked more sausages for us. Also was so silly as hardly knew most the people that were there and was not the best for staff morale. Then on the Friday after work I went to the Drs in Rhodes about my pain and headaches she recommend seeing a sports physio and gave me a sick note for Saturday. Was not sure whether to use the sick note as felt abit of a fraud but eventually at 9pm I phoned up sick as the pain was getting worse. Which actually worked in my advantage since away this weekend in Kiama for my 2 years since met Tiago, which has flown by. On Saturday up early as having breakfast at Coogee at 10am for Nadia, Gabrielle's mum at the Brazilian restaurant Farinha. Was all you can eat Brazilian breakfast for under $20 fresh fruits, cheese breads, meats, juices, yoghurt and coffee. Really enjoyed the acai smoothie , but unfortunately the coffee was too sweet so only had a sip then left it. The food was ok but found it very oily so only had a little of everything but no bacon as too seemed abit too greasy but liked the bite size cheese bread. Got home just after 12 go get some wine to take away with us choose a red and sparkling wine. Then get sorted to go away for the night to Kiama not before having a coffee which Tiago accidentally spilt on me. So ended up having to get changed and then waited for the washing machine to finish and left just before 2pm. Traffic seemed to be quite bad going and stopped at McDonald's over an hour into journey for Tiago to get a coffee. Ended up getting to our hotel 'The Sebel Kiama' just after 4 and is well located in Kiama overlooking the bay towards the blowholes. Was free parking which was a bonus and when checking got a free welcome plus breakfast in the morning, which we didn't expect so nice. Once we got to our room was nice and big with a small balcony which would be good in the summer but looked into the road. The hotel only disappointment was that their was no pool but did have a gym but didn't bring our gym stuff. Once settled in was time to have a glass of red wine whilst watching TV and deciding where to eat tonight. Went for dinner at their restaurant the blue diamond bar and bistro located on the lower ground floor. I had the salmon with cous cous which was abit strange as the cous cous was abit strange was little yellow balls. Tiago had the pork ribs which unfortunately was overdone and enough sauce so definitely not the best meal. But on a plus we got our free welcome drink so I had a glass of wine which was good after meal moved into bar which overlooked the bay. Once back in the room was time for the sparkling wine and then had a nice relaxing bath but not a spa bath like the one in Port Stephens and bed 10ish. On Sunday up 9ish get ready, shower and then go for our free complimentary breakfast before 10. Breakfast was in the quarry restaurant on the ground floor and luckily we got a window seat with a stunning 180 view of Kiama harbour. We enjoyed a delicious full buffet breakfast with plenty of choice first had scrambled egg with mushrooms and tomatoes. Then fruit with pancake from the pancake machine with fresh honeycomb so good. Also even the coffee tasted good and was nice to have a window seat to admire the beautiful day with the sun shining. Back to the room after breakfast to get things and checked out at 10.45, so good that check out not to early would definitely stay again. It was then to go see the Kiama blowhole which is the town's major tourist attraction. Under certain sea conditions the blowhole can spray water up to 25 metres in the air and drenching any bystanders. Unfortunately today it wasn't performing for us but still offered beautiful views and also got to see the lighthouse aswell. On road after 11 back to Sydney and on way out saw lots more places could of eaten in walking distance at last night but at least we know for next time. Luckily on way home home traffic a lot better and stopped on route to get petrol as good rate and got home 1ish. Once home relax for abit then go for a coffee about 3.30ish and do the shopping on the way back. It was then time to chill for abit before going to the gym 5ish and actually ran for the first time this week and managed 3.11kms in under 17 minutes very happy with it. Aim to speak to patents when on Skype and tried a few times but with no success, so had shower then dinner. For dinner had pork cutlets which not had before but very tasty with lots of greens, Tiago really enjoyed it. I then spoke to parents about 9.30ish on Skype as there never got the message first time so that's why no answer. On the Monday was off work and actually our 2 year anniversary since met Tiago today so arranged to go out for dinner tonight. Luckily I was off work all day so during in day had my personal training with new instructor Georgia at 10.30 and seems gave me new exercises to do. I then met Hannah old work mate for lunch at Maisy's 24hr restaurant at 12 as she is having dinner on Friday but can't go. Was nice to meet her again and discussed about the NUM position but said don't want it as too stressful. Also the interview I had the other week for palliative care job at St Vincent's I didn't get but quite glad as got a bad vibe from the NUM. As he wasn't impressed that I didn't have a question at first but eventually I got one so not really disappointed. Once home relaxed for abit then decided would try to go for a run outside and ran to Cremorne reserve which was better than expected did 4.15 Kim's in 23 minutes. It was then to get ready for meal tonight and since not eating til 8.30 Tiago wanted to meet in city at 6.30 to save him coming home first. Met at Star bar in the heart of the Sydney CBD on George street at 6.45 for a drink had 2 wines. Decided to have a game of pool for something to do even though I haven't played for ages and not that good. Tiago won the first one then me the 2nd somehow and then it was the decider game but went downstairs as more pool tables. Unfortunately I podded the black ball but we still continues with the game until all balls in which Tiago won. It was then time to head to the restaurant but was abit of walking so got train from town hall to circular quay. But we just missed the 1st train as I nearly fell down the stairs but luckily didn't and only had to wait 3 minutes til next one. Got to restaurant 'Cafe Sydney' just before 8.30 and is situated on the 5th floor of the common house. Cafe Sydney captures the essence of Sydney from its amazing location on the rooftop with spectacular harbour views. We had looked at the menu before hand and was tempted with the seafood platter but unfortunately was cold so decided against it. So instead we shared 1/2 dozen oysters first and then I had the barramundi and Tiago had the ocean trout as fish appeared to be there speciality. The food was delicious and drank wine with the meal, but was no desserts we fancied so just had desert wine then berry tea and got home 10.30. It definitely one of the best restaurants we have been to in Sydney is not cheap but is worth it as the best view in Sydney.
