Work, dentist, flat, pizzas and drinks

Wednesday 26th September Rome up about 8 read for abit and kept saying round go for run. I eventually went for a run at 10.30 only managed 2.10 miles. Was two stray horse loose on helipad which were trying to catch so had to go slow past them. On late shift was specializing a patient as on half hourly observations. Do mainly looked after all in 4 bedded bay which was nice for a change. Also managed to swap shift shift to early for comedy show, what a relieve.
On Thursday on early was very busy as my patient who specializing yesterday still needed special. His femoral line came out was blood everywhere and needed pressure on wound and sand bags for 30minutes. Also he was cytotoxic so had use cytotoxic spillage kit. Didn't go to lunch til 2ish and only had about 20minutes. After work I went to dentist to sort out my filling so I thought. Bad mistake as found out nerve dead and probably need root canal and crown for $2400. But their repaired for now and put medicine in the tooth. But do it slightly different to UK as covered tooth with plastic 1st which felt strange. So glad I got my Bupa healthcare sorted as would of cost $228 but Bupa paid $160. I wonder how much there will give me for root canal and crown. After dentist went and bought soup and yoghurt for tea as thought best to have something soft to eat. Also spoke to mum on Skype and connection bit best also struggling to speak abit since analgesia not worn off. Luckily when I got home and ate soup analgesia worn off.
On Friday went for a run but too hot only managed 2.11 miles and had to stop twice once to redo laces and one to catch breath. Phones Bupa and unfortunately root canal and crown seen as major surgery and not covered til a year so would only get $50 back. So I think I will leave it for now until filling falls out again. Then me and Bianca went to view accommodation at liberty grove $750 week furnished 3bedroom town hall. Was abit concerned what furnisher would be like be nicely done all neutral. Me and Bianca really like just need to discuss with Debbie and show her pictures. At work was busy lots going on blood products, had to re-inflate trachy cuff which I did for first time.
On Saturday didn't want to get probably as couldn't get to sleep last night. Also knew was going to be busy shift when told had MET call overnight. I just don't know where the time went didn't have break til 12 so had lunch and coffee together and was ready for it. At night off out for pizza at lipari pizza at Rozelle, Sarah found offer there. Could have 6large pizzas between 4 of us but could only manage 4 and couldn't have take-away, shame!! Was full afterwards but decides to get bus to Newtown and have chocolate pizza at Max Brenner. Which was very good and Debbie not had before think she liked. Got train back which was very busy could tell was Saturday and got back 10.30.
On Sunday on a early shift and was such a nice shift actually felt like how a Sunday should be. It probably helped as our patient with trachy got sent to ICU overnight as had low sats. At night me and Debbie went for drinks at Opera bar as never been before and tons is nice. It was good as had live band could sit outside under heater and we shared a cocktail jug of vodka, strawberry, apple and cider, definitely have again. It wasn't a late one as Debbie on late next day.

2 day Xmas shopping spree

Monday 24th and day off so decided to go into city and try and get done Xmas shopping done. As only 5 and half weeks til I go home and want to have most of done by then. First stop Westfield and went to Coast to try on bridesmaid and shoes. Which was a big mistake as realized I have lost weight, but looked nice. As originally told Sarah was size 10 but am actually a 8 and shoes too big usually 5 but needed a 4 in these ones. When I Sarah told said would try to change shoes but dress will have to do. Also to get to that chocolate cafe everyday!!! It's no like i have been eating healthy must be all the walking I now do. But I did buy a strapless bra for wedding which has some padding from Calvin Klein with matching shorts. So hopefully that will help with the size 10 as only big at top. Also must of been to Calvin Klein lingerie abit as gave me discount card.
Next stop surf shop to buy some new flip flops as mine nearly had it. Was far to much but eventually decided in some reef one. Has beads which change colour to suit your mood, my mood was happy and romantic. Need stop rocks as thought had seen some nice teddies there for my godson's. But was far to much choice just couldn't decide which one. So went to sit on grass near circular quay and write card to Sharon and updated blog. Was there a hour or do as was a nice day. Then to French connection to see if had maxi dress which didn't as. Ie in outlet stores. I then found done gorgeous teddies amazing what you find when not looking. A koala and kangaroo with Aussie t-shirt and scarf for godsons, so got some Xmas pressies.
On Tuesday off again so going to try and get more Xmas shopping done. First stop pandora to get mums present and lots to choose eventually decided hope she likes. Then went to Calvin Klein to get another bra set I saw yesterday. It was then off to Birkenhead point to meet Sarah for a catch up and shop. First stop food got prawns and grilled veg from sushi place gave me chopsticks which couldn't eat with had to get fork. Then time to do Xmas shopping saw done nice flat shoes at nine west but resisted. For Ellie and Ben xmas present from Ralph Lauren and dad from tommy hilfiger. Just hope there all fit alright but mum and Sharon did give me their sizes. I then went to French connection and had maxi dress I liked. Also got summer dress in pale blue was good as got 20% off dresses so only $30 a dress. It was then time to leave not before having coffee and muffins. When got back to city went to get Ellie a kangaroo teddy aswell. So got most of Xmas shopping just few more things to buy. So I think I doesn't nearly $500 iin 2days good job pay day this week

Bondi beach when sunny

On Sunday 23rd don't think I got much sleep as probably didn't get to sleep til 6 and up 9ish. At least one good thing about Dwayne's was that he had good showers. But then my hair got wet and no drier so had to go for breakfast with half wet hair in stained dress. Not sure if that was my best look, but was all I had. Went for breakfast had bacon sandwich and coke just what I needed. Can't beat proper food after a night out and couldn't manage all sandwich. Also over breakfast Dwayne informed that he was still in love with his ex in UK, just what you want to hear. Was tempted to tell him that I'm meeting my ex when back at home but resisted. Dwayne gave us a lift back to accommodation as asked how getting back and said he had told me would give me a lift. So he didn't try to get out of and just did it. On way persuaded him to give me and Debbie a lift back to Bondi. As he was also off to Bondi to go surfing with Lisa from hostel but had to go pick up workmates first. Well so we thought but very busy so said Bondi junction and turned out to be central. As since had to pick his workmates up and their car not enough room for everyone. But I suppose at least we got a lift then got train and bus to Bondi. Bus station was very busy had to wait a while for bus, Debbie made us move queues then trust bus to arrive, but only another 5-10minutes.
It was a very nice day at Bondi was about 25 degrees and didn't know if would get spot on beach. But luckily we got a good spot just near the lifeguards the ones which are on TV. But I can honestly say I don't think I saw any from the TV shame. So first day sunbathing but not really hotter enough for topless yet. Didn't really see any talent but was only on beach for about a hour or so. But I suppose we did have lifeguards, surfers and when leaving fire brigade arriving so can't complain. Then went for ice-cream had a mango sorbet very refreshing.
It was then time to head to Bondi junction found a nice maxi dress at French connection but not my size. Debbie got some trainers from target so can start going running with me. On way back once at Town hall station had two blokes ask us way to some where. Didn't know so left and then came to chat to us wanted to take us out for drink not keen. Their we're supposedly from Canada but not sure and one had funny eyes not sure where he was looking other one very tall. A train pulled wasn't our train but got on it anyway to avoid them and knew could change at Strathfield. When got back said would wait up to see Bianca but feeling tired by 9ish so went to bed.

Night out bondi

Saturday 22nd september off out into Bondi tonight for a change. Wore my new ninewest shoes and my new white dress. Both Nat and Bianca didn't want a late one as at work next day. So met Nat at the restaurant mojo's which does tapas food and trust Nat to be late as usual only 15minutes. The tapas was nice but never feel you get enough really and probably didn't order right things. As we got 2 potato dishes and probably only needed one, also waiter nice to look at.We had sangria to drink which was good and dessert chocolate empanadas which shared with Debbie.
Then it was time to head to the bars first stop Ravesi's wine bar. Which was very busy full off girls with short skirts and low cut tops. Definitely felt Abit underdressed felt like you were in one off those reality programmes like 'Made in chelsea'. Then to crossing for a drink had a cocktail with Hendricks gin was quite strong. It was then time to catch the bus back to bondi junction only 11.30.
Dwayne phoned and was at house party in Bondi junction so went to meet. Everyone else was invited but been boring and going home since work next day. When arrived couldn't get in so owner came to let me in and when asked who I was Dwayne said 'my girl'. Which was surprised he said that but felt good. The apartment was very nice where party had a wooden balcony and probably good views but had to tell when dark. Unfortunately their didn't have white wine so had to drink red instead. Off course trust me to spill it on my white dress and told Dwayne spit got it out so he tried. But then I remembered that it is spit to get blood out, never-mind. Dwayne disappeared to speak with his other friends so left with his friend Graham from Canada. Who seemed very nice so would be rude not to give him a kiss goodbye when he left. Also am sure Dwayne did the same with a Thai girl so two can play at that game. He did apologise for leaving me and for some reason think we were last to leave. He had friend from Cairns at party who got chucked out if car by his workmates. We weren't sure why but supposedly she had said something which their didn't like. Ended up going back to Dwayne's got taxi back which he paid for. When got back to his accommodation could see the sun coming up. Also his friend arrived back and seemed abit sheepish why got chucked out of car. Felt strange staying in a room with 6others and on bottom bunk of bed.

Twelve week of work

Where is the time is now my twelve week of work 18-22 September. On Tuesday 18th went for a run only managed 2.03 miles and ran 1mile then 2nd 1mile. Probably didn't help as it was very hot was 21 degrees, need to go when cooler I think. Got letter from Nanna and wrote back to her with some pictures. On late today at work and got moved to 5north neurosciences ward. I had a nice shift probably quieter than my ward and staff friendly which is always a good thing. Think we only had 8 patients between two of us and need eyedrops every hour.
On another late on Wednesday so went to Rhodes first to get my eyebrows waxed. As not had done since been here and definitely needed as the same using tweezers. I also bought Rachel's birthday present online from amazon so will get sent straight to her. At work only had 10patients was very chilled and only had one blood product, nice for a change.
Was supposed to be late Thursday but girl wanted to swap shifts so now on early. Which is better for me as I prefer to do early's to late's. We still only had10patients which was good and on A side which is not as busy as B side at the moment. Went for run after work managed to do 2.32 miles non-stop. Supposed to meet Dwayne tonight but he was tired so just had a lazy night in with Debbie.
On friday on another early and was floating which meant I help everywhere. Was nice as no notes to do and was told I worked very hard. Then got roster for next month and not happy as requested 20th early and off 21st and on late's for both of them. So no comedy show or surfing for me, need to try and swap with some one. Went for run afterwards to burn off been annoyed ran 2.11 miles all in one go. So that means nearly run 6 and half miles this week. Spoke to mum tonight on Skype but connection bad but still managed about a hours then I updated my blog a little.
Then on early Saturday nice shift not to busy, at least that's one good thing about weekends. We only had 11 patients between 3 staff and was on B side. Phoned Manly surfing up to see if could swap surf lesson and luckily could change to 13th October, what a relieve. As would of been a shame to miss out on doing it.

No more car and shopping

Have to take car back today which is a shame as nice having it to explore the place, Monday 17th September. Bianca drove again think she enjoyed driving really. Got lost on way to Avis as had put GPS to take us home thinking would be Avis address. But it wasn't was actually someone's address so extra 10minutes to Avis. After dropped car off had to find train station thought off to Croydon one. Then we saw one to right off us was Burwood station. Which is so much easier to get to than Croydon station handy to know for next time, so forever learning each day.
Got train to city as Bianca wanted to go find the cat for her boyfriend. There is a famous cat at the State Library Of New South Wales. The cat is called 'Trim' who came to Australia from a small town In England called donnington with flinders who was the first person to map out Australia. In Donnington is monument of cat and is where she went on her first date. We found the cat their is a bronze statue of Trim on window ledge of Mitchell Library in Sydney.
It was then time to do done shopping so we headed to Birkenhead point, as Bianca not been yet. First stop food I had a sushi bento box as not really has sushi since been here. Then it was time for shopping and where to start bottom to top. Was disappointed as really wanted to get Ellie a Ralph Lauren cardigan. But unfortunately didn't have one so had to buy something else for her. I did however find a nice ralph Lauren cardigan for myself. Saw a nice top for dad but not sure what colour or size so will have to come back. Got a star top from French connection, anyone would think I like stars. Also got white dress for $10 from cotton on and done burgundy jeans. I think we both spent far to much but is nice to do now and again. When got back meeting Dwayne but too early yet so went to Myer then Harbourside. I tried the billabong bikini I saw a few weeks ago and bought. Think must of doesn't nearly $200 today or well it was fun..
When came out of Harbourside it was raining didn't think had been in there that long. Then time to meet Dwayne met at town hall and picked us up with his workmates. Went back to his new hostel at Surreyhills alot nicer than other one. People actually speak to you here and rooms looked bigger but still sharing with 5 others. Went for meal at Cleveland with his workmates. Was nice to see him but still not sure if truly believe him. Said will try to meet up later in week and gavel lift to train station.

Cronulla and blowhole

Sunday 16th September and day two off road trip first to decide where to go. Decided since day would go to beach so Cronulla beach as never been. Cronulla beach is a popular tourist attraction and attracts many beachgoers from Sydney. Cronulla beach had a long stretch of sand with a wide variety of beaches from rock pools to more sandy beaches. It looked a nice beach and we walked a along the coast to see some of the other beaches Shelley beach and shark island. Was sure a nice day that I ended up having to take off my leggings and just wear dress. It was about a hour walk got to certain then turned round as feeling hungry and have to move car. Someone giving away free chocolate milkshake at beach so had to have one and was ok. Then Bianca went to move whilst we went to find cash point. But in end car didn't need moving as no limit on Sunday. Had halloumi salad for lunch was very good as just fancied some halloumi.
Then it was time to go explore again offered to drive but Bianca wanted to continue. We looked on map and saw waterfall so thought would go find that. Pulled over on dirt track started walking up it then realised easier to drive so got back in car. Good job we did as would of been walking forever as turns out it wasn't a waterfall just a place but told one in national park. Went to see was Uloola waterfall which was 2 and half trail decided against as not dressed right in dresses and flip flops. So decided to go to Wollongong again to see the blowhole.
Luckily we realised before we got to Wollongong that the blowhole was actually in Kiama. The blowhole was discovered in 1797 and only a short walk from the town. Under certain sea conditions the blowhole can spray water up to 25metres. Unfortunately we didn't get to see that but did see it blow and was a nice lighthouse aswell. Then it coffee and cake time just got there in time as shop shutting nearly 5. Had a lovely white chocolate and pecan tart. It then time to heard back and Bianca still wanted to drive. We dropped Nat off at home visit in Coogee then home for us. Didn't get back til late so just a quick tea fruit and yoghurt. Actually spoke to Dwayne and turns hasn't got girlfriend was ex girlfriend coming over from UK but not coming now. Not sure if truly believe him but meeting him tomorrow to find out.

Canberra

Saturday 15th september first road trip and am sure many to come. But wasn't impressed as checked Facebook this morning and Dwayne had put about girlfriend coming over. Nice of him to actually tell me he had a girlfriend. I know it wasn't anything serious but still nice to know but not going to worry about til Sunday as got road trip to look forward to.
First job to pick up car from car hire at Avis in Croydon. So we caught 2 buses to Croydon but I think the 2nd one we needn't really need as could of walked from bus stop. As when 2nd one dropped of was about a 5minute walk to Avis car hire. We had requested a manual car but their didn't have any so got an automatic silver Kia Cerato. Was a nice car was 5door which was good since 4 of us going as invited to Debbie to come. Bianca drove first had a trial before getting on main road and had a few bunny hops first but once on main road fine. Picked Nat up first from Croydon train station then on to highway and had to pay $4.40 for toll. Stopped at McDonald's on route for food had coffee and savoury muffin feta and spinach. It was nice but think still prefer sweet ones.
It took us about 3hours to get to Canberra and first stop Floriade flower show. Bonus we got free parking and was free to get into Floriade. Floriade definitely not like Chelsea flower show, no big displays. Also some of the flowers looked half dead but at least we can we came. One stall doing dress up which was quite fun think picked on Bianca as wasn't keen. Whilst walking through Floriade could see some water jet so went to investigate. It was Regatta Point and the jet was Captain Cooks Memorial jet which we could see. Over the water in the background was house of parliament.
It was then time to go explore Canberra and seemed like a ghost time in comparison to Sydney. As you definitely wouldn't of thought it was a Saturday afternoon unless in wrong place. Think Canberra is more know from its politicians and casino, which we found. We then walked up the Anzac parade walk which is the site for many major military memorials. There was even one for service nurses so obviously had to get picture of. At the end is the war memorial which is Australia's national memorial to all armed forces. When first enter is nice has names on walls with poppies, the museum wasn't that interesting. Then it was time to head back as getting late getting on for 5.
Now by time to drive and never driven automatic car before so should be fun. I had a trial run round the car park first which was ok, just braking too hard. As don't think need to press brake as hard as with manual. Also kept putting windscreen wipers when meant to put on indicators as in wrong place to where am used to. The drive was ok but think definitely prefer manual to automatic. Whilst driving every now and again I kept wanting to change gear, but don't need to on automatic.
We thought we would go to Wollongong for food and was further than we thought so stopped at service station on route for crisps. Once at Wollongong seemed ok a few nice bars but we weren't bothered about that just wanted food. We went to Samaras a Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine. Never had Lebanese before but was nice had two different platters. Which consisted of shish kebab, grilled chicken, kafta, Beirut chicken and dips. So think Lebanese food is mainly chicken and lamb dishes. Then we went to see the lighthouse at Wollongong which changes colour and bianca's turn to drive. Only took us about a hour to get back Nat stayed at ours and slept on floor even though I offered. As thought easier for her to stay at outs then can get off early tomorrow on another road trip

More nights and proper food

More work and nights 8-14th September. Work up about 8ish on saturday so probably only had 4hours sleep, not much. I tried to be discreet getting Dwayne out of accommodation but Dutch students saw him. Am sure no-one will say anything as I have seen one of them with lad. On late today and felt so tired at work could easily of fallen asleep in handover. Had coffee afterwards and felt so much better and shift was ok. We had 2patients with blood products and one aggigated patient, who wasn't that bad really. Then Sunday on another late but was nice shift could tell it was a Sunday afternoon. We also had a patient die and it doesn't get any easier, probably didn't help as was first to realise breathing changed.
On Monday 10th got up about 11ish was going to to Birkenhead point but couldn't bothered. So instead I had a lazy day just went to Rhodes and got lots of food for night shift. Also my shoes arrived which I ordered from eBay today and were just as lively as picture. At night went to Liberty Grove were Sarah house sitting for the week. Bianca cooked us lasagne for tea was very nice with garlic bread and ice-cream. I had to leave early as my 1st night shift tonight. But first my pass wouldn't let me into accommodation so security had to let me in, which was fine. Night shift was a lot quieter than back at home actually had time to sit down and I only had 8 patients. In the morning handover seemed to take forever as CNE listened in and wanted me to involve patients more at 7 in morning, really!!
On Tuesday 11th I woke up about 2ish then watched TV for abit. I foolishly went back to room to listen to music at 3.30 and was dozing on and off ti I eventually got up at 5ish. Night shift was busier as my patients not really settling. Also since only open to 25 patients one staff got moved to emergency to special patient. Did not sleep as much after night woke up 12.30 and went to Rhodes to book Manly surf lesson through Groupon as only half price $35 for 2hours. Some , Bianca and Nat going to try surging which am sure will be amusing. I also priced up car hire for weekend which finally going to sort tomorrow. I also went for my first run since fall which felt sluggish only managed 2.09miles at pace of 10 is normally less than that. The night shift on Wednesday 12th I only had 6 patients so thought it might drag a little. But it was actually ok kept busy with trachy patients requiring a lot of suction overnight. In morning showed the staff how to clean inner cannula and do cuff measures on her. As there both had not really looked after her before and needed a refresher.
On Thursday 13th got up at 1.30 and didn't really do much once up. Waited til Bianca finished and so we could book car hire. We went to the library but was shut so we had to phone up requested a manual car, which said was fine. Was miserable day looked cloudy and grey most of day and rained later on. Was supposed to go to Korean BBQ as sounded interesting with work but didn't feel up to. At work one staff got moved to 1north so I had 12patients and were more settled tonight which was good. When I finished work was still wide awake so finished book and went to sleep at 9ish. Woke up at 11 went to toilet then went back to sleep til 1. At nightbisnca cooked us lasagne again at Sarah's house sitting flat. Then we all went to watch Madagascar 3 which was very good, very funny.

Tour and night out George street

Friday 7th September and got up this morning and we had a new girl arrive, Debbie from Ireland. I had breakfast then thought would be kind and go find Debbie at library to take her to Sydney. I think she appreciated my offer so off to Sydney we went. First stop Telstra, so Debbie could get Sim card for phone. Then we went to Medicare but unfortunately couldn't do as didn't have her Visa. Next and final job tax office which is a pain to find unless you know where it is. Also for some reason it doesn't like Concord postcode so have to put one for Concord West. Not sure why just how it works for some reason.
Then the fun bit went to the Rocks food market, which I haven't been too before, but was abit disappointed. As was expecting it to have as many stalls as normally market at weekend. But was less than half the size only got free taster of banana bread. It was then to show Debbie the bridge and Opera House. I told her if feeling down is a good place to come to remind you why your here. I also took her to botanical gardens to get picture of bridge and Opera House. But unfortuantly it wasn't as nicer a weather as day before but still got picture. It was then time for food just went to food court in Myer. I had a little shop as needed some more flip flood as mine nearly broken. I still can't get used to them calling them 'thongs' and not flip flips, just doesn't seem right. It was then times to head back as off out tonight.
Tonight off out to George street as looks to have a few nice bars. Especially the 'Ivy' with with swimming, not sure will be off there tonight. Just me, Bianca and Debbie off out as Sarah tired and couldn't be bothered. Decided to wear my new skirt which i got yesterday just a shame my new shoes aren't heres. First stop Morrisons bar which was nice but was fairly quiet. Next went to Jackson on Georgewhich we all weren't impressed with was very tacky. Also it had a whiff of sick not good impression and playing lots of 80's music.
So hopefully 3rd time lucky the Establishment bar which looked nice from outside. Also Nat had recommended it and was very nice played good music and some talent. Only thing was a lot of men in suits, probably come from work. Got chatted up by 'Charles' who seemed abit of a Pratt as after turned him down started chatting up girls next to me. But in end didn't seem to bad thing better on own Bianca kept going for smoke with him. At about 2ish Dwayne arrived but wouldn't let him as said was too drunk. Also by this point Bianca and Debbie had enough so went to Mcdonalds for food. My first Mcdonalds since I arrived and was good had chicken and cheese burger. Then it was time to catch the bus back, nice for us and Dwayne came aswell. Didn't get back til 4ish and felt a tad naughty taking Dwayne back. As we're not allowed visitors at night but security not around. It was nice to have some to cuddle up to overnight.

Gardens, Madame butterfly

Day off today Thursday 6th September and looked a nice sunny day. But not sure if it was really beach weather yet, so decided to go into city to get Madame butterfly tickets first. Then was still nice so went and laid in Botanical gardens and read my kindle was very nice. Think I might of caught the sun little was there for nearly 2hours. Walking out of botanical gardens got a lovely view of opera house and bridge. Since was still nice when I came out I went to sit at Opera house cafe and wrote letter to Nanna and read again.
Afterwards was walking back to train station and realised was fashion show on at Westfield centre. So would be rude not to go look and seemed to be giving lots of freebies away. I had champagne, strawberries, red velvet cupcake, meringue, latte and appetiser. Also had offers on at some of the place I bought a skirt from Gap. Was just a shame that didn't have camera as my battery was nearly dead on phone. As was some nice talent men inbred jeans with no tops on. Next time will just have to make sure carry camera at all times as you never know when photo opportunity.

Work and going out

Tenth week of work where is the time going 2nd-5th September. On Sunday 2nd on a late so went to Rhodes food shopping first. When paying realized had left knickers in bag which used for laundry and groceries. How embarrassing trust me luckily don't think anyone saw and at least we're clean ones. Then went for a run but too hot so did 1.02 then 1.05, managed to do 2.07miles. On late was busy had two MET calls for same patient as had low conscious level. At first their couldn't decide whether to take patient to ICU but went about 8ish. Then we had one patient go to CCU.
On Monday was on early started off alright had a patient go to RPA for radiotherapy. When came back blood sugar 2.5 gave hypokit came up to 3.3 then dropped again to 2.3. Dr aware gave IV 50% glucose and blood sugar came up to 8.6. In meantime patients pulse 126 and temperature 38.2, IV paracetamol given as couldn't manage oral and ECG done. Was with patient for about 2hours so didn't go to lunch til 3ish had a quick break, then did writing. Got belated birthday card from Ruth with ITunes voucher in and tried Australia one I bought and now works, so can get music now.
Met Dwayne at night he picked us up on the way back from work with his workmates, who got lost on way back to city. Went to Dwayne hostel at Wolloomooloo, in inner city Sydney. Thought my accommodation but his more basic has 3 sets of bunk beds in one room so 6 can share but only 3 at moment. Then went to meet his friend Paul near Central station. Who had a friend with him who used to be on Home and Away played Sally's husband Flynn. It was then to Paul's place in Marrickville so Dwayne could leave car there, as keeps getting parking fines. Had a drink and then went to get something to eat but getting late so not much open so just had a kebab. Dwayne laughed at me as I made a mess with dipping sauce everywhere. Then time to catch train home was nice to see Dwayne again just shame didn't get much time on own.
On Tuesday woke up early before 8 and not at work til 1.30. So decided would go for a run and was going well then fell over at 0.75 miles as caught foot on stone. Was tempted to stop but didn't think it was that bad but I carried on and managed to run 2.05 miles. When got realized had grazed right knee and left elbow and both hands, oh dear.. Had a shower and then looked like I would have bruise on left hip.At work was busy but not too bad had patient back from ICU with trachy. Now happy to do on my own and even showed another staff how to change inner cannula and do dressing. At night struggled to get to sleep as couldn't get comfy due to bruises.
Then on Wednesday on a early and team leader for our side. Was a nice morning working 2 good staff but one finished at 1 then was abit manic. I had to handover since team leader and was ok. We had patient with ascitic drain and for albumin after every 2 litres. Seemed to repeat a few times to one staff probably didn't help as done so much. Then patient with tachy wanting to get up into chair didn't really have time, so got physio to review her.
Once home found shoes I liked on ebay from Nine West for half the price to bought. At night off to Newtown for dinner with Nat and Bianca. Went to Thai restaurant where Bianca been to before, was good just shared 2 dishes. Then after fancied something sweet so to Max Brenner and shared a chocolate pizza. First time Nat had one think she enjoyed. It was then time to catch train got train to Burwood so we thought but only got so far and came back to Newtown. No idea why but continued to Redfern and changed there for Rhodes. So for some reason spent 20 minutes on train for no reason.

Meeting up, tickets etc

1st day of spring 1st september and nice and sunny, which was a good start. Supposed to be meeting Ruth from home as here on holiday today in Coogee. But texted me early this morning to stay couldn't meet as full of cold, was looking forward to it as haven't been to Coogee yet, but still plenty of time. I was also meeting Nat today but she also wasnt sure if could meet as off to see Pitbull later at Olypmic park as her friend had spare ticket. So decided to go into the city anyway as needed to go to Apple store as got Itunes card yesterday but not working. Thought might be meeting Haidee from training course in city but she wasn't feeling the best as was out last night. Went to Apple store and I found I should off changed to Australian Itunes acoount first so looks like may off lost money but at least now got UK and Australian Itunes accounts.
In the end Nat could meet up in city for a few hours so we went to Opera house and booked our tickets for Just for Laughs even got a box to sit in. I also enquired about Madame Butterfly and can reserve tickets for 7 days so I did that then can check with Bianca if still want to go. Next it was to the Rocks fo food went to Orient bar had a wrap which was ok but was not like English wraps wasnt really a wrap. Was hoping to look round the Rocks and get abit more shopping done but when came out was raining so decided against it. Also was time for Nat to go now so I went to look round the Myer for abit until the rain stopped. Saw some nice court shoes at Nine west but didn't buy. Said might meet Dwayne tonight but he was off out with work mates said could join them, but I decided against it.
So instead I went back to Rhodes and spoke to Mum, Dad and Nanna on skype, haven't seen Nanna for ages think she was glad to see me. Also Mum and Dad go on holiday tomorrow to Cyprus so thought best to speak to them before there go. When I came was so quite was going to watch TV but danish students playing cards so didnt want to disturb them so went to read kindle and had early night. As everyone else out tonight as Bianca and Sarah also off to see Pitbull tonight.

Work, date and more uniform

Ninth week of work and on Tuesday 28th August on a late seemed nice day so sunbathed for 1hr and half with Bianca before work. But then when we came in there was no hot water, never had sure a quick shower. I hope there get it sorted soon.. Work was ok and when got home we had hot water, yippee.
On Wednesday on a early got to give oral chemo with supervision as fit to wear purple gloves. Then dispose of container into glove and put in cytotoxic bin. Watched CNE do IV meds and flask via femoral line. Then I got to change IV fluids via Hickman line with supervision. I also changed tracheostomy dressing and cleaned inner cannula. But I asked another nurse if she would be there with me since my 1st time. I then accompanied the patient for dopplers. One of the nurses didn't recognize me at first with hair in ponytail not bun. Another patient also mentioned how on Sunday had seen people going on roof to sunbath, I wonder who that was, so funny. I also got the rest of my uniform but trousers too long so wonder webbed them when home.
I then had to decide what to wear as meeting Dwayne tonight. Decided to wear my star dress with my Ugg boots. Meeting Dwayne at darling harbour and he was late by 10 minutes not a good start. But when he arrived he couldn't apologise another for been late said didn't realise how far it was. Said if he had realised would of got taxi and ran last few minutes. We decided to go to Cargo for something to eat shared a pizza and Greek salad. Then walked down darling harbour to another bar which had live music on. Where we had a few glasses of wine was a good night and think will definitely meet again. Also I think my outfit went down well, he liked the boots. Must of been a good night as lost track of time and missed last train home. So I had to get the bus home and didnt get in til 1.30.
On early on Thursday not good after late night but got up fine. Work was ok was a lot less busy as patient with trachy had gone to ICU. When I finished I went for a run and managed to run 2.36 miles without stopping. Then on Friday on another early and had 2 people off sick but was a nice shift, even starting writing before lunch. I had to hand over and felt it went a lot better and was told it was good. Supposed to go out tonight but Bianca not been paid so then meeting Dwayne. But by 7.30 didn't know what was happening so went to Rhodes with Bianca to get junk food. Then found out Dwayne's battery had died on him but couldn't bothered meeting him by then as nearly 9ish, so stayed in ate junk food and watched TV.
