Day off again Saturday 24th November and off to the Santa Fest later on at Darling Harbour but doesn't start til 6.30 so what to do before. So went out for breakfast at coffee club at Rhodes with Debbie, Bianca and Peter came to join us had our usual French toast instead of latte had milkshake was nice for a change. Went to gym later on with Debbie think only managed about 30 minutes as only ran on treadmill and went on rower. We went to the city abit early then the start of Santa Fest as wanted to go to Opera house first ton price up Swan Lake but unfortunately it was sold out. But picked a brochure and looks to be some good arts coming to the Opera house Blaze dance act and La Soirée a cocktail of cabaret, burlesque and circus shows. It was then time to walk to darling harbour as wanting a good space to see everything what happening and petter meeting us there.
Santa Fest water spectacular supposed to start at 18.30 which when looked at the programme was only the colouring in competition.so felt like we were waiting around for abit, at 19.30 the main Santa Fest entertainment begins Santa arrives on jet skis which is just so weird. Then it was abit more waiting before smile for the Darling harbour Santa crowd photo, where we all had to smile for the camera. The Santa fest carol singers came next who were all dressed in Santa outfits which was good songs which you could sing along to. It was then time for the main event of the water spectacular which a parade of boats and yachts some with Santa's, more Santa water skiers. Their was Christmas floats and pyrotechnics, Santa sky skier which was very good who did the top secret lighting of the Darling Harbour Christmas tree. Which was were Santa sky skier lit the tree with a type of gun and ending the show with the Christmas firework finale. It was very good and at the end definitely felt in the Christmas spirit even if it was strange to see Santa on water skis and sky skier.
We then walked to harbourside and on way there found a sparkling star on the floor so i just had to have as was for sale at santa fest, but i got for free. Afterwards went to san churro's for a sharing chocolate tapas with churro's, ice-cream, brownies, chocolate pretzels, chocolate sauce and strawberries which me and Debbie shared. Peter was going to come and join us then realise the time and had to go meet Bianca from work. It was then time to go sample the cocktails at hard rock cafe as Debbie been saying how good their are so we both got a Hurricane cocktails where we got a free glass. The hurricane was orange, mango and pineapple juice, havana club blanco rum, captain morgan's black rum, amaretto and Grenadine which was very nice. Nat then came to meet us after her meal so we had to try another cocktail but no free glass this time. This time I tried the caipirinha which is cachaca mixed with fresh lime and sugar topped with topped but still think preferred the one at hurricane. It wasn't a late night think got the last train home which is so much better than the bus.
