Shopping, Running,Thai and work

Friday 26th April up 8 as need to go for a morning run ran 5.63 miles but stopped a few times but did run so,idly for 2.64 miles. When back phoned APHRA about my registration said to try again online and phoned DoDo said Internet should be in Monday/Tuesday. When Debbie got up went to DFO as i wanted to get something for ellie which i got and a new costume from Seafolly for when i go to Spa whilst at home .Debbie wanted some new clothes and certainly got plenty got jeans x 3, tops x 5, bag and purse from fossil said she never spent so much in one go. On way back stop at Rhodes as Debbie wanted something's from cotton on hot top, cardigan and pyjamas. Then late lunch had jacket potato my first one from food court was good, then to target as want sandwich toaster but didn't have any. It was then home get changed and go to work start at 3.30 and very busy couldn't go on my power hart training postponed til the Monday. It was only busy as had a few admissions and discharges, also blood products. On way home phoned hone to see how Nanna was and is better also the CT scan didn't show anything, which is good news..
Saturday woke up just before 8 which was good as at least time to have breakfast and it to settle before go to gym. Spinning at 9 was a lot harder than normal probably as had us doing a few hills but it was still good. Then to meet Eliza to go through my gym programme mainly focusing on strength ing my legs for when running so doing lunges, bridge and weights. It was then to Rhodes to get my star blanket which I eyed up a few weeks ago decided to go for the red one not the blue. I then had to go to bank to transfer money to Bianca as got our bond back today and got it all back, yeh and then to get a few groceries. Home and was supposed to go to city with Debbie to help her getbgifts for friends but decided to stay at home and chill before work. Also was nice as on late short again so not starting work til 3.30 and when leaving Debbie just coming home so would of had time to go to city with her. At work was busy but at least was not as busy as last night but was plenty of staff and Michelle gave me a lift home.
Sunday on a early and decided to walk different route to work as not sure if the shopping centre open at this time in morning. Work ok only open to 24 patients and 2 staff on my side was busy at the start due to washes etc but not to bad and actually finished abit earlier. Was offered a lift but declined as nice day so thought be nice to walk back through the park. When got back was going to go for a swim but walked past pool on way in and was a few in, so thought would leave it for now. Also once home Debbie already left as flying home to Ireland today for about 2 weeks for a wedding and a holiday. Since pool busy decided would go to Rhodes instead to sort nurse registration out which managed to do which was good. Also booked Addams Family tickets for me and Debbie when she gets back from Ireland, as had offer so discounted tickets then to Coles to get a few things. When back thought best go for a run and so happy was my best run so far fo a while did 4.58 miles non-stop must of been as getting dark so made me go faster as was good pace aswell. Then had tea and couldn't really be bothered cooking so just had cheese on toast with a poached egg on top. Time to then chill and had a nice relaxing bath just what need to ease muscles after run do washing and rest on the sofa.
Monday didn't sleep well woke up every few hours must of been because I was on an early today, work very busy. Must of been busy as didn't go for morning til 11am and missed lunch, but did get to practice doing line change and taking blood. Then patient came in and complained about me as thought I was abrupt to him which doubtful but apologised anywhere but he didn't make a formal complaint. I apologised as thought I should not that I really thought it was justified but for some reason got upset about it. At least after I didn't have to go straight back on ward went for training on handover which went live today and opened to 30 patients. Finished a few minutes late but was a nice day so walked through park on way back to take in the scenery. Chilled for abit then went to spinning class which I really enjoyed think might off been the best instructor so far. Get back have tea gnocchi, chilli tomato sauce and spinach nice then watch TV and fall asleep on sofa didn't realise how tired I was and plan to do run whilst home maybe Race for life.
Tuesday another early and Sharon texted to say coming in September so excited so phoned mum and dad on way to work about it, still can't believe it!! Work very busy and got to practice taking bloods again but made sure that I got lunch today. At the start always feels never going to get there but did and actually got to finish on time. Got home went for a run did 4.18miles all together but at end legs felt so heavy then tea cous cous and fish then chill in front of TV. Wednesday another early at least not as busy as yesterday and got to practice taking more bloods from line. Then about 2ish seemed to get very busy so rushing to get noted done got out 10-15 minutes late and May gave me a lift home. Supposed to go for run today according to plan but phoned DoDo instead and hopefully Internet will be in on Friday. Then go to city to meet Nat and Sarah at Xage Vietnamese restaurant in Surreyhills but not to hungry so just had spring rolls and rice rolls. Was good but the spring rolls were too small was BYO and $3 corkage per glass which seemed abit expensive, how silly. We then walked to Max Brenner in Paddington took about 30 minutes me and Nat shared Tutti Frutti waffle with strawberries, bananas and ice-cream. Left very satisfied with a rich taste of what chocolate can and even should be tasted like this is a chocolate-lover's must-stop. Then caught bus back to city and then train home could feel myself nearly falling asleep on train kept finding myself nearly nodding off but managed to stay awake just.

Nanna unwell, Anzac Day rugby

Wednesday 24th April and woke up 12.30 breakfast then thought best go for my run since never happened yesterday. I didn't feel my run was the best felt very sluggish compared to normal and had to stop once but was 20 degrees but did mange to do 3.05 miles. Come back prepare potatoes for tea as doing honemade wedges then go to Coles for a few things. I then went to collect Debbie's parcel from Post Office but unfortunately not there yet so have to get Friday as bank holiday tomorrow, and look at frames in Ikea. When back phoned Wine tour to see if any possibility of spitting the voucher as seem to be struggling to get all 4 of us together but can so that good so just need to arrange to go now. Once Debbie up we went to the intro spinning class at 6pm as only 30minutes instead of 45 but didn't really feel like a intro class. Then get back and do tea potato wedges, lamb burger then a sort of elton mess 1st time Debbie had lamb burger said was ok but liked the elton mess. Go to Rhodes with Debbie when she left for work as need to go sort out my nursing registration as due end ofMay but Internet been silly. I also spoke to Mum and Nanna on Skype but unfortunately the Internet not he best kept going and Nanna seemed abit vague. Home about 11ish watch TV and trust me to fall asleep on the sofa again. At 3.30am got text from Sharon to say Nanna in A&E as confused, probably similar to what happened last year. So thought best phone home to see what happening spoke to Dad as Mum at hospital with Nanna. Said Nanna confused couldn't remember some things as couldn't remember 'Ellie's' name and had fall at charity shop day before. After all the excitement I struggled to get to sleep and Sharon texted again to say Nanna staying in overnight and going to do a CT scan.
Work up 8 but then went back to sleep til 10 and pottered for abit got invited to go to the Anzac Day rugby with Lou later today sounded like fun as not seen rugby match here yet. Caught the train 12ish to the city got to see the end of the Anzac Day Parade might of been nice to see it all but was 9-13.30, maybe next year will see the parade. Anzac Day is one of Australia’s most important national commemorative occasions. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. It was then to Apple store to sort out phone as not turning on and off only found out when went to Ayers Rock when asked to turn phone off but couldn't so put on airplane mode. Unfortunately their couldn't do much with it as it is water logged must of been when dropped in toilet, oops so need new handset. Priced up how much to change to contract but got to sign up for 24 months so might be cheaper to buy 2nd hand iPhone 4. Then to get a boost drink and a quick look in seed as got sale on ended up buying a new scarf which I saw a few weeks ago. It then to catch bus to Coogee to meet but stood their waiting and told at other side of park due to Anzac parade luckily still made it in time. Met Lou at Coogee beach then we got bus to Allianz Stadium at Moore Park to go watch the Anzac Day Rugby was such a good atmosphere. It was good to attend and watched the game on Thursday afternoon like any other spectator. There were lots fans of every age, yet you sensed that all in attendance understood the importance of Anzac Day. The ceremony prior to kick off was observed with respect by most people was good to see the red berets parachute into the stadium before the service started. You then had some of the old servicemen go round the stadium in camouflage trucks and was quite emotional. Obviously the most relevant way to celebrate its history was to play the best match of the 2013 NRL season. The game was between St George Illawarra Dragons and Sydney Rooster, the Roosters and Dragons have played on Anzac Day in 1959, 1961, 1978, 1979 and every year since 2002. We decided to support the dragons since has relevance with England unfortunately our team didn't win but was a good game even though not sure on rules, but will go again. Was good to watch the Anzac Day NRL match where I ate Anzac biscuits which lou bought drank cider on Anzac Day, could I be more Australian. On way home decided to call into Myer first to see if had the star jumper I saw online but didn't but found star scarf not that I need anymore scarfs so didn't buy.

Work and nights

Saturday woke up 7.30 then to gym at 9 with Debbie to meet our trainer 'Eliza' to set our programme. But since me and Debbie want different things from the gym she will meet us separately next Saturday to do our individual programmes. So she did our weight, BMI and found out what we actually want from the gym mine to prepare for city to surf. Time to then go do a workout only went on rowdy, cross trainer and sit ups so not as much as normal. Then to boost for w gym boost smoothie to replace the energy we had just used even though we didn't work as hard as normal. Home and relax for abit and go to Rhodes early before work for lunch with Debbie had a quesadilla was good. It was then time to go to work and had a nice shift even though open to 30 patients but only had 24 patients. Also was plenty of staff so on my side we decided to spilt it so we all had 4 patients each which seemed to work well. On sunday woke up 8ish then go to spinning class and didn't appear as hard as last week which was good, then chill at home and get boost on way to work. Work a lot busiest than yesterday probably as was less staff but nice as one of the patients bought us all food in from his Thai restaurant, very nice. On way home thought would phone hone as not spoke to mum and dad for a while and annoying as still not got Internet so cant go on Skype.
Monday 22nd April woke up early again this morning at 8 but determined to go back to sleep since start nights tonight and managed to go back to sleep til 10. Breakfast, do washing then to go to spinning class at 12.15 with Debbie and I really liked this instructor didn't shout as much and let you do it your pace. It was then to Rhodes for lunch at coffee club had club bruschetta was ok. We thought whilst at Rhodes would go price up going to New York in Augusy at flight centre and their put the idea in our heads off including Hawaii. Then off to Coles to get a few things for tea as I made tea chicken in sweet chilli sauce with rice obvisiously I didn't make the sauce was a bought one. But I also did pudding aswell meringue with fruit and cream as Debbie seems to like her meringue at the moment and better than chocolate. Then work both me and Debbie on nights and only open to 24 patients but had 23 with 4 staff so knew someone would get moved. Luckily it was not me and I had 8 patents who were ok apart from one refusing there s8 in the morning. But I did seem to constantly eat but was fruit and nuts, I signed up for some courses and didn't sleep on my break.
For a change Debbie finished the same time as me and was very hungry so we stopped at coffee club on way home but I got nothing. We were both tired so didn't go straight to the gym like we had planned instead bed hot up 3 and could hear people in pool. I kept thinking of going for a run but it never happened will definitely have to go tomorrow otherwise never be able to run city to surf. Debbie got up 5 and I had already prepared the roast veg for tea and Debbie cooked the steak, set the smoke alarms at least we know their work. Went to Coles on way to work as Debbie needed to get things for her night shift I got sone Anzac biscuits since Anzac Day this week. At work sure someone get moved again as still only open to 24 patients with 4 staff so had 6 patients each. Then at midnight told person have to go to a Burns Unit thought for rest of the night so had swapped patients round so had 8 instead. But then after a few hours was back but then in the morning had to go back to Burns Unit but luckily back in time to and over patients. So was a nice shift and don't think ate as much as last night but at end of shift had to wait 10-15 minutes for Debbie to finish.

Days off, hair cut, meet friends and gym

.Thursday up 8ish breakfast then go to the gym after, went on cross trainer 13mins, treadmill ran over 4km (3.03miles) so only 10km more to do then ready for city to surf in august then did sit ups. It was then to Rhodes to go to the bank to print off a recent statement to send for my salary packaging. Home shower and then go meet Hisako for lunch and catch up had a Cornish pasty which was very similar to one at home, was good. I also took my laptop with me so could try and send my scanned items to DoDo again as supposedly still not received. But for some reason it wouldn't send so had to phone DoDo up to get the email address again and hopefully sent this time. Then I went for a little shop round for picture frames but couldn't find any that I liked and posted the leaflets to mum and dad. Home and chill for a hour or so before meeting Debbie at Rhodes train station after she finished work. As off to have our hair done tonight at Christhoper Hanna in Surreyhills with our voucher and decided I wanted a change to liven up my hair abit so had red through it, very happy with it. But Debbie was the one who had more dramatic change with going lighter having blond highlights put in, still can't believe was their 2 and half hours. It was then off to get food but Debbie didn't want to go in pub as had uniform still on so went to KFC and had a sharing bucket. Then home and rest on sofa in front of TV and could feel myself falling in and out of sleep so eventually went to bed.
Friday day off again and up 7.30 breakfast, washing and catch up on news all those lovely exciting jobs. Then to gym cross trainer 6mins, treadmills ran 4.08 miles (6.18km) non stop so very happy with that as doing more each time at running. Home, shower and go to Rhodes to get a few things for tea as don't want to be rushing later on. We then met Bianca at train station as off to city to help Debbie find an outfit for her wedding when home in Ireland. First stop was review was lots of nice dresses suitable for wedding but not in Debbie's size and Jen met us there. It was then to Coast where so many dresses and I even found two dresses I liked but not got anyway to wear it for and was some nice shoes but not 100% sure. Lou then met us there and we left those 3 to go do our own thing went to Apple as Lou want IPhone sports armband but I have to make appointment. It was then to find north face as Lou wanted a waterproof jacket as will need one come winter which she found and I want one now but not in black fancy a blue one. I then went back to coast and bought the shows as was such a good discount would be a shame not to buy them. It was then to Max Brenner for a lovely dark hot chocolate and Lou left as meeting friend for tea so I went to find the girls. Not before stopping at Michael Kors first where found a lovely blue dress but not my size typical, there gave me another one in smaller which fitted ok but didn't like style as much. I then met the girls eventually in David Jones and went to look at shoes so had to go look at Shoes of Prey and Debbie now tempted to design her own. Bianca and Jen left us 4.30 as off out tonight and Debbie had found dress whilst I was with Lou from Myer but not 100%. Then home and stop at ikea on route home to go buy some pans as we definitely need some bigger ones. I then made tea meatballs( not homemade) in tomato sauce but had put abit too much pepper in but luckily was still eatable. I also did pudding pavlova with raspberries and cream so quite healthy was in then watched 'Pitch Perfect'. Is about a group of university girls who all become par off a cappella singing group thriving on female pop songs and good looks. It was good makes you laugh the characters are engaging and the musical performances well chosen and well done.

Meet old friends, meals and work

RSunday 14th April woke up 7 pottered for abit do jobs around the house like sorting washing and doing washing etc. Then went to spinning class at 9.15 which was Debbie's first one think she enjoyed but found it hard and I even found it hard work but haven't been to spinning for a while. Then chill for abit before work but on route to work went to Coles and Ikea to get a few things which Debbie took home as on day off. Work was ok but it was a Sunday and Sundays are normally ok, also eventually got signed off giving IVABs via central lines yen Mona gave me a lift home. Then Monday on another late but was up before 7 had breakfast then thought would go for a run did 2.65 miles non stop and ran to old place. As I had to meet cleaner there who was sat outside waiting for me and realised was a few things still in place like containers etc so took to new place. When got in chilled prepared tea for tomorrow at work as out early tomorrow, so won't have time apart from today and then sorted out photos. Before going to work had to go to Rhodes to post cards and get cash out to pay cleaner who wasn't finished when I got their but looked clean from what I saw. Then called at liberty grove agent on way to work to hand in some keys and see how long to get bond, which will hopefully get early next week. Work not too bad was team leader and worked with a new graduate was her first ever late but she did ok. When finished was raining with some thunder and lighting but luckily May gave me lift home so didn't get wet.
Tuesday up early again this morning as off to Sunrise Yoga which was good but need to organise my breathing abit then phone home afterwards. Sharon also texted and thinking of coming over in September with Ellie and Ben for 3 weeks which will be good and be able to stay with me as Debbie will be home by then. It was then off to a Darling Harbour to go meet Helen old work colleague from Harrogate hospital with her family for breakfast. As Helen been in Australia for 3 weeks started in Melbourne and drive up to Sydney only having a few days in Sydney. Was nice to catch up on all the gossip and sounds like she has had a amazing time and was sad to be going home. We went to plate I had bacon eggs which was good, i wanted to take them to waterfront but wasnt open. Afterwards I headed to the tourist shop to go get some more leaflets for mum and dad whilst their went to do sone shopping. Unfortunately didn't have time to post the leaflets as had to head back to go get changed for work and go meet carpet cleaner at Liberty Grove. For some reason the carpet cleaner seemed to think I was Bianca and then I went to drop off the rest off the keys at office. Work was busy as now open to 30 patients as had a few admissions but luckily not on my side and Michelke gave me a lift home.
Wednesday woke up 5.30 didn't want to get up for work but obvisiously did work very busy was team leader. Felt at some points that the rest of my team not communicating with me also opened to 30 had lots of admissions and no discharges but still managed to finish on time. On way home phoned DoDo Internet to see if received my fax which sent sunday but not got yet so not happy will have to resend again. Once home get changed rest for abit then go out as going out to tea at Surreyhills. Whilst walking from Central to Surreyhills saw a place that scans forms so went and scanned my forms and resent to DoDo. Met at the clock hotel just after 6.30 and trus t Nat to be running late but Bianca, Sarah, Dave and Pip, Jen's friend from Brisbane there. Only had to wait abit for Nat not really sure where to eat thought maybe Thai but we had not booked anywhere. Dave suggested 'Red Lantern' a vietnamese restaurant with an Australian cuisine owned by Luke Nguyen who appeared on Australian masterchef but was no room. So then to decide where to eat ended up at an Italian where Bianca and Nat been before was I had duck pasta was very good. It was then to Messina Gelato which is voted the best gelato in Australia by Good Food Guide, but Nat went home. Gelato Messina sets the benchmark for gelato in Australia, with over 40 unique gelato flavours. So what to have as far too much choice, I had banana bread which had caramel through it but couldn't really taste the caramel through it. We sat in the park opposite Messina to eat our gelato and it was good will definitely have again as so many I wanted to try. It was then to walk Pip back to her hotel going down Crown street and Oxford street til we got to her place 'Swiss hotel' near Myer. Then it was to catch our train from town hall and got in after 10 and even got in after Debbie finished work.

Randwick races

Saturday 13th April didn't sleep well last might not of helped falling asleep on sofa woke up 5 then went back to sleep til 7. Then did more washing, shower and was supposed to help Bianca move with Debbie but was still sorting out things so just Debbie helped her to move back into staff accommodation. After finishing sorting went to Rhodes as needed dental floss as ran out this morning and then met the girls. As supposed to be having breakfast but I had had already eaten so I just had coffee instead at Lily's. The girls had bought me a parcel slip so was off to post office to collect parcel was my work uniform, go to bank to change address and a few other little jobs. It was then home and time to get ready to go to our first horse races in Sydney for the Australian Derby Day. I decided to wear my pink dress as think I have only worn it once before and Debbie got a new dress whilst in Rhodes earlier. We left our at 11.30 to catch the train to central and then the bus to Randwick Races and got their just after 12.30. Unfortunately the others were not here yet but we made ourselves to our entrance the Corona Beach Casa Infield Paddock which had to catch bus to. The Corona 'Beach Casa' Infield Paddock has a more casual option but still felt had to wear a dress even if I didn't go for the heels was some in jeans. This unique ticketed location positioned in the middle of the course offers a 'Carnival Casual' atmosphere with grass hut bars serving refreshing Corona, and a DJ spinning summer tunes for $25. The event was a sale probably because 'Black Caviar' was here and maybe the last chance to see her last race. When we got to the paddock it was already the 3rd race and abit disappointed did get a list off all races, could only see who was racing on the bookie boards. The paddock was very casual only 3 places to eat and drink, think would of preferred more choice but that's what you get for going cheap and cheerful. It took abit for Nat, Lou and Sarah to arrive so by this time me and Debbie already bet on some races and lost...and had food. Luckily I had taken a blanket so we could sit on the glass as only a few chairs to sit on, I didn't put money on all races but a few. The girls were very amusing and was entertaining to try and watch Nat walk in Sarah's shoes as so high. Was so happy as I won on race 8 'Aristan Star' and as soon as I saw the colours I knew I had to bet on it as had a star top. Obvisiously I bet on 'Black Caviar' and it was great to see 'Black Caviar' win her 25th race out of 25 starts and seemed to do it so easily but had been sure a hype all day about her. By the end of the day the girls had all had abit to drink and got talking to some from Cronulla and Lou was very amusing fell off when having a piggy back. Coming out of the races somehow we ended up losing Nat and Sarah who were going out drinking and made sure Lou got taxi home. Me and Debbie got the bus back to the city and luckily didn't have to wait too long for bus. Then Debbie treated me to tea at pizza hut since she had won $60 at the races whilst I only broke even. On way home stopped at coles onroute and as soon as home had to watch my feet as so dirty have wearing flats on the grass. Overall was a good day for my first races in Sydney but still think I prefer English races as more choice for food, drink and bookies. But I would come again but think I would like to try the more expensive area as from my side couldn't view the horses.

Moving to Rhodes

So day actually come now for when we move into new place quite sad as end of a era for the 3 of us as Bianca moving back to staff accommodation. But new start for me and Debbie so happy times as place is very nice and much prefer it to Liberty grove is more modern. So woke up early this morning about 6 must be all the excitement of moving, so picked Debbie up she finished work whilst waiting for her speak home. Good job I picked Debbie up as she had a box to bring home with her to pack her last few things. Once home decided we would all go for breakfast for the last time as a house so went to Coffee Club since that was the 1st place we went and had French toast. It was then to flight centre to sort out mine and Nat's accommodation for Melbourne unfortunately the place were the girls staying couldn't book straight away but got on request, so fingers crossed get it. We are only going cheap and cheerful for accommodation staying at the nomads hostel which is supposedly quite central for everything. It was then time to start moving which we started doing 10ish only did 2 loads and most of stuff nearly moved by then, but no point unpacking yet. Driving wasn't too bad but did do one emergency stop when forgot not to use left leg, Debbie drove once to new place and didn't like. Also realised that we have a lot in basement to store all off our unwanted boxes, so at least will keep place tidier. Then home quick check round house that got everything and give the place a clean before taking the hoover to new place. Load the car up again with last few things like TV, Hoover etc and take Bianca with us so she can see place for 1st time and liked. We then took Bianca to work as she had a few bags of clothes that taking to work and we had to go shopping. First stop on way out of concord hospital was to first choice to get the essentials some alcohol to welcome the new place in. Then on to Rhodes to have a look for things tor new place 1st Target and seen a few things what we like there like dinner set. It was then lunchtime so just went to food court not really sure what fancied so just a a wrap as not to hungry. Next ikea for a few things like glasses and I needed a new lamp as dropped my old one on the 1st and a new sheet as my blue one too small for new bed. It was then back to target to get our other things luckily we had a trolley to put everything in as would of been a nightmare to carry. I then went back to flight centre to see if accommodation available whilst Debbie went to put stuff in car and luckily it was now available. As it would of been a shame if we couldn't all stay in the same place but we have got two rooms as Debbie and Bianca arrive day before us and thought might aswell keep their room. By the time I was done Debbie had arrived and next stop was Coles to do the food shop as thought might aswell get a few things whilst had car, didn't leave Rhodes til 3.30. Only took 2 loads to unpack car and sorted a few things out like putting good etc away then off to take car back, so only get charged for one day. After taking car back we went through Burwood shopping centre to get tea I had sushi and McDonalds ice-cream then catch train hone. Then for the fun to bring, not sure!! but time to start the unpacking started at 6.30 and was not really fully sorted til 8.30. So nice to have a walk in wardrobe now with my own ensuite and made my bed so it felt like home (see pictures). I then did some washing and so good not to have a top loader machine anyway was a normal front loader one. Then time to chill in front of the TV, realised left remotes at old place but seeing Bianca tomorrow and trust me to fall asleep on sofa then took ages to get to sleep last look was 1.30am.
