Beach and more nights

Thursday 14th November Tiago left 7.30 and then got woken up at 8.30 when Diego his brother walked in on me, luckily was under covers. As his brother was there to wait for the beds to be delivered and left 10ish to catch bus from top of road to Manly. When got to manly when first got off bus wasn't entirely sure where I was but soon realise was top of Corso. Was nice and sunny ended up been on the beach for about 4 hours and had my mobster munch which was worth waiting for. Got ferry back to city which I never get bored of doing as always feels like been on a sort of mini holiday. Then train to Strathfield whilst waiting for next train phone children's hospital as got email and didn't get job was someone more qualified and could tell I was nervous. But at least on a good note it gave me practice of what to expect from Sydney interviews and hopefully something better will come along. Got home after 5ish have food then just chilled before had to go do my night shift. On way to work phone mum to tell her didn't get job and told me more about Nanna. At work open to 30 patients but 1 empty bed with 4 staff so I had 7 patients and had 2 patients been specialed. Had a nice shift had one patient who had abit of pain so required a few breakthroughs overnight. Went for my break 3 ish only for 40 mins since had 6 staff to have breaks unfortunately 2 of my patients didn't sleep well as patient snoring very loudly. In morning aim was to take 2 bloods but only had chance to do one as doing personal care. Also had clinical review as patient had low blood pressure so bolus fluids given which didn't help so had busy morning finish 7.30. When first got hone not that tired at first so played on Internet for abit but think fell asleep about 8.30. For some reason woke up 11.30 and thought was later than that so got up as couldn't get back to sleep at first, but I knew I had to try since more nights to do. Eventually fell back sleep after about an hour then got up 2.30 have breakfast and watch 'Hart of Dixie' 2 episodes. Then go to Coles to get a few things home have dinner poached egg on salad which wasn't the best egg not quite right. Rest of night just watched a TV before work and on way to work was raining lightly luckily got to work before downpour with thunder and lighting. Only open to 24 patients was 5 staff as 2 patients still been specialed so we had 8 patients each. I was busy til just after midnight as had a few IV antibiotics to and then I took over from the special. Rest of shift was not too bad had patients with pain and febrile patient so ended up taking blood early. Was last to go on my break and just before I came back was feeling tired sounds about right and handed over 1st in morning. At least when left work wasn't raining fell asleep just after 8 then woke up 11 for 30 minutes and back to sleep til 2. Once up breakfast watch 'Hart of Dixie' 5 episodes kept thinking should do something but couldn't be bothered moving as looked miserable day outside. After dinner which was just a mixture of all sorts as couldn't really be bothered cooking. At 7ish went to have a lay down but didn't succeed in having a sleep instead texting people, was going to speak to mum and dad on Skype but both at work. Made smoothie before work Oreo, frozen banana, yoghurt and milk thought might be too sweet but was actually ok. Was raining when left for work so ended up wearing my jeans which was a good job as bad time got to work their were wet. In charge tonight still only had 24 patients with only 3 of our staff 2 x RN and 1 EN. Luckily there sent us another nurse and an AIN as still had 2 patients which need to be specialed, so had 8 patients each. Was busy til just after midnight doing IV antibiotics and had to do ECG then took over from special at 1ish. Rest of shift not too bad but had patient wanting shower at 2.30 so assisted them so by morning had 3 patients already showered. Had patient with pain and febrile in the morning so just took blood cultured with normal blood and finished on time. Went to Coles on way home as needed to get some milk and bananas then sleep just after 8.30. Woke up 10 and back to sleep til 12.30 then eventually got up 1ish and watched 'Free Willy 3' on a TV for abit which do think seen before. Tiago then came round 3.30ish as not seen him since Thursday morning and now Sunday we just chilled and he left 8ish. I then had something to eat left over chilli and spoke to mum and dad on Skype only 6 and half weeks til their here. Was raining lightly when I had to go to work so Vanessa kindly gave me a lift to work. Only 23 patients I was in charge again so I had 11 patients and other RN took 12 patients. Busy at the start but then not too bag nothing eventful happened had the usual febrile patient in the morning. Was hoping to do line change in morning with educator but unfortunately wasn't there early so didn't happen. Finished on time was raining lightly but once home not tired so played on internet then sleep after 8.30.
