Monday 11th went for run this morning when got up, Debbie went before me but I still managed to catch get up only did 1.32 miles. When got back went to Coles to do some grocery shopping and been fancying almond croissant since I spoke to Sharon last and still haven't got any. Then when back I finished sorting mum's other birthday present out a photo album off me me in Australia and eventually ordered it and will hopefully arrive in time for her birthday. It was then time to go to work as on a late was a nice shift had a return patient who told me I was one off his favourite staff, nice to hear. Nothing exciting happened just a usual shift but I suppose was actually quite nice for a Monday then walked home with Debbie. Tuesday woke up 7.30 read book for abit then thought best get up so went for a run and did 2.02 miles. Then when got back had breakfast and for a change had scrambled egg instead off my usual porridge but should of had pancakes since Shrove Tuesday. I was going to go to Rhodes later for lunch for crepes, but got distracted instead watched film 'catch and release' a romantic comedy and updated blog. On a late again at work and now open to 24 patients but still not to bad had in-service today and was good bought in food. The food was cheese, nuts, crackers, sandwiches and fruit and all seemed to do was eat so when went on break didn't really want much to eat.
Wednesday on a early looked very dark when walking to work with Debbie it looked like it could rain but luckily it didn't. Work busier than yesterday and I pressed the MET call as patient became unresponsive but came round after a few seconds. We had lots of discharges and patient had cytotoxic spillage so had to dress up in the purple gear felt like an alien. One patient who said I was one off his favourite staff we discharged today has 4 mango trees so his daughter bought me a mango, very nice!! Debbie finished before me but waited for me and went to gym when back ran 2.12 miles on treadmill and did crunches. We then went for tea at Rhodes wanted crepes since never had yesterday but was shut so had to make do with oporto a Portuguese style chicken restaurant first opened Bondi in 1986. It was my first time to try and I had a chicken & cheese burger, not as good as McDonalds but mash and gravy good then had banana bread. It was then to the cinema to see 'Gangster Squad' based in Los Angeles, 1949. A secret crew of police officers led by two determined sergeants work together in an effort to take down the ruthless mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) who runs the city. It gives you everything you'd want from a good gangster movie, think The Untouchables, only not as good. Gives an overly violent portrayal of LA crime in the 1940's and the story, acting and look of the film make it good entertainment with some good eye candy of Ryan Gosling.
Thursday (valentines day) on another early and walked with Bianca to work who doing a double shift was a nice shift everything done by 2pm and was a nice team working with. Had my mango for lunch in my fruit salad which I had bought in for me yesterday was very nice not too sweet. When got home Debbie had a gift for me my 'Almond Croissants' so exciting so had to have it straight and was good.. I also had a parcel from mum and dad limited edition kit Kat chunky hazelnut and coconut can't wait to try. Then at night off out for meal at Paddington for Debbie birthday going there as never eaten their before and fancied trying somewhere different. We had to wait for Natalie to arrive was going to eat at 'Imperial' which is l located at the gateway to Paddington precinct. The Imperial has recently been refurbished and has delivered a classic Paddington Pub experience carefully blended with a range of truly unique offerings for locals and guests. But unfortunately as soon as we walked in was very busy with drinkers and the fire alarm going off and not sure how long would take. So decided to walk on abit further to see if find anywhere else ended up,at 'Paddington Inn' a boutique pub which has it all food, fine wine, beer or cocktails. It was a nice atmosphere as soon as walked and offers a range of space over 2 levels and trust Nat to know someone. We ended up sitting on the lower level and I had chilli mussels and garlic bread was good, but no finger dish to wash fingers after. Debbie wouldn't let me pay for her for her birthday and no puddings what we liked so ended up going to Max Brenner. Where we had chocolate soufflé and ice-cream was very rich but good and bought Debbie hers. Nat couldn't decide what to have and had been her idea to go there o she ended up just having a hot chocolate and we got in about 10pm.
Friday early and when got to work thought only 2 staff on our side then more staff arrived which was a relieve. Was a nice shift as only had 10 patients had another cytotoxic spillage but was a different patient and more dressings to do. When finished work went to Rhodes to price up my long weekend off in march Byron or Queenland look promising but will be about $800 for 3 nights. Then when got in went for run whilst waiting for the other two to come home from their day out for Debbie's birthday, I only ran 1.50 miles. When I their got in time for Debbie to open the rest of her presents and she knew what me and Bianca got her from packaging and think she liked my silly presents. Then Jen came round and disappeared into the kitchen with Bianca to make coffee then came out with cake with candles on and biscuits both homemade. The cake chocolate orange made by Jen her present to Debbie and biscuits by both of them a shamrock one (see picture). We then ordered pizza from domino's had wine and by time finished pizza was too late to eat the pizza so will have to leave til tomorrow. We then watched dvd 'The Campaign' about two congressmen hoping to win the upcoming election. It had some funny moments in but was not as good as I expected as thought would be more funny with Will Ferrell in.

Manly again...
Sunday 10th February speak home had a nice chat spoke for nearly an hour and for a change the connection was good. I then went for a run did 1.30 miles only short one as too hot to do anymore and did a slightly different route still round bicentennial park. Then decide to go to manly was hoping to meet someone there but Sarah working and Nat decided to go to Coogee so went by myself instead. But first to Rocks to get presents for Lou and Debbie just got them a little photo album with pictures off sydney handmade by Lisa Renoire and I got one last time when in Australia. Then it was quick dash to circular quay and just made the ferry in time with about 2 minutes to spare. Once in Manly first stop market to get Debbie's main present from me and Bianca getting her picture but wasn't sure which one so had to send bianca's pictures but eventually decided and got. I then nearly bought myself a kaftan but was $110 thought abit pricey so will have a think but can wear it day and night and will go with my new sandals. It was then to the beach not before stopping at few a little tourist shops to get Debbie a few silly present like a Australian name plate. The beach was full off seaweed for some reason ( see picture), must off been due to the weather as the big waves must off washed it all ashore. Was a nice day to be on the beach not too busy stayed on the beach til 4ish which is when the sun eventually went in. When came off beach went and looked in some off the surf shops for some board shorts and rash vest for when we do surf camp. I saw a few I liked but not a 100% sure so will have a think about no rush and not even booked surf camp yet but instead bought a dress. Thought might meet Haidee tonight for tea but then came over all tired must off been the sea breeze so just went home. Got home just before 8 and ran home from the train station as raining not the best when in flip flips and got a few bags.

Port Stephens tour
Saturday 9th February didn't sleep well last night woke up 2ish with cramp in my leg. Then got up at 5.30 as early start today as getting picked up from Mecure central at 7.30 for our port Stephens tour. Was at Mecure hotel earlier than 7.30 and seemed to be waiting a while was a few coaches going past but not ours eventually arrived and had to park out front as no room at back of hotel. It was then to pick up from star city which seemed to take forever but eventually we were on the road to escape the city for the day. We must of been on the bus for over an hour crossing the Hawkesbury river, a holiday hub for boat lovers. Before we reached our first stop the Australian Reptile Park and as soon as walk through door got to touch a baby alligator held by one of the keepers. Then first was 'Spider World' to view the funnel web spider been milked for their incredibly toxic venom, which is one of the only places in Sydney to do it. Spider world puts the 'fun' back into 'funny' by providing you with a great understanding of the eight legged creature. The theme humorously looks at the Aussie tradition of spider loathing, set in the Australian backyard (and viewed from a Honey I Shrunk the Kids perspective) with high-tech interactive exhibits and a giant three-metre high animated spider. It was then to see the famous 'Elvis' the crankiest saltwater crocodile in Australia, who is 50 years old from darwin and is the largest crocodile in the Australian state of NSW. We then got to go feed the kangaroo's in the picnic area where the kangaroo's are free to range in the open space and were so cute. Was good to see the kangaroo's up close and the kangaroo's could come and go as their pleased I got to feed and stroke one, which was good. The emu's were all in this enclosure and could roam freely but advised not to touch them so just took pictures. We then saw the wallabies and Parma wallabies which were very small compared to the kangaroo. Saw the cassowaries a large flightless bird which are now endangered and flying foxes which looked like bats. There are some lovely walks and you got a close view off the koalas which were very adorable. It was then time to see the Tasmanian devil for the first time since been in Australia which looked sweet but the two didn't get on and had a fight. Then to meet 'Hugo' the giant Galapagos tortoise who is 62 years old and their can live up to 200 years old. We then met 'Onka' and 'Damus' two dingos which look just like dogs but don't bark and can't be tamed and tried to show how eat eggs but won't playing as supposedly just punch holes to get everything out. Next was to see the wombat which looked very cuddly and not enough time to see the platypus which was a shame. I also wanted pictures of me in the crocodile mouth but too many to get one so got picture of sign then back on bus and obvisiously some were late back.
Then time to continue on to beautiful Nelson Bay for our dolphin cruise the journey took about 2 hours. When we got there we had about an hour for food which wasn't really long enough to sit down so just got take-away chicken burger and chips then sat looked at the marina. Nelson bay is the main town for Port Stephens and it is unknown the origin of the name some say it is from Admiral Horatio Nelson. Today Nelson Bay has everything the visitor could want as far as facilities particularly dolphin and whale watching, surfing, diving, fishing and other recreational aquatic activities. We then boarded a luxury cruiser which was the maiden voyage to search for pods of dolphins whilst enjoying the spectacular scenery of the bay and Tomaree and Yacaaba headlands. Chilling on the top of the cruiser and relaxing into the beautiful surrounds whilst searching for bottle-nose beauties playing on the waves. But unfortunately we never got to see any dolphins or ride the cruiser’s boom net. Instead we had to go back early as something fell off the top of the boat just missing person on top but hit someone on the lower deck. So when we got back the paramedic's were waiting for her so the cruise was only a hour instead of hour and half due to unforeseen circumstances.
Return for a land-lubbing adventure with a four-wheel-drive tour through the stunning desert wilderness of the Stockton Bight sand dunes. Which is located only 10 minutes from the centre of Nelson Bay, it is the largest sand dune system in Australia. As soon you arrive at the sand boarding place you can see camels on the horizon, felt like back in Egypt. The Stockton Bight Sand Dunes is almost surreal dune system it is up to 1km wide, 32km long of coastline and covers an area of over 4,200 hectares. You can imagine yourself on a saharan safari surrounded by glorious dunes, the massive dunes climb up to 40 metres high. First we got to enjoy the comforts of modern 4WD vehicles to take us from near birubi beach to the dunes for us to go take a wild sand-boarding ride. It just looked like a miniature snow board we were first shown how to do sand boarding then time to hit the slopes. So you just sit on the board with hands behind you with feet touching front and go down the huge 60 degree slope. It was lots of fun and I did it 4 times the most tiring part was climbing up the slope, some people screamed but didn't want to incase I got mouthful of sand. On way back to coach sat at back of 4WD as told would feel the bumps of the dunes more but we didn't feel anymore. After this exhilarating trip, we board the coach for the return trip to Sydney watching the film 'Bran Nue Dae' it is set in Broome Australia in the Summer of 1969. Bran Nue Dae is a road movie, coming of age, comedy musical which celebrates the adventure of finding home. It's a happy film with a quirky musical theme which is very entertaining and bizarre at the same time. We disembarking back at Central station at around 7PM and first stop food just went to McDonalds something quick and easy. Whilst waiting for train back saw Jen and Bianca arriving to go out to china town for Chinese New Year, but we just headed home and watched TV. As was a very good day lots of fun just a shame never got to see dolphin s but am sure there will be plenty more time to see them.

Work, cinema and bowling
Monday 4th February up 7.30 to speak to mum and dad on Skype and good connection for a change. Then went for a run with Debbie the usually route round bicenntial park did 1.34 miles. Then went to Rhodes to post mums present as be nice for it to arrive on time and get some groceries. On late at work and felt abit ditzy must still be tired from doing my nights. We opened to 24 patients but when I left we still only had 20 patients, tired to send NMC form but wouldn't send probably as off to England. On Tuesday was going to get up at 8 for run but pressed snooze button must of needed it after my nights eventually got up at 9.30. Instead went to Rhodes to sort out my NMC form as need to get it sent before take me off register cost $10 to fax from post office met Debbie and Bianca there. On another late at work and was team leader our patient who been with over 100 days died was quite upsetting as got to know the family well. We had an English patient and had a giggle about English programmes but how good comedy's are etc which probably was what needed, when left only had 15 patients.
Wednesday on a early and all at work for a change so all got to walk together, but Bianca on a long day. Had a nice shift only had 8 patients, Me and Michelle actually had time to sort out the staff room as we now have a cleaning roster and that's ours me February and Michelle march but were joint together makes it easier. When got home went to gym with Debbie went on treadmill and ran 2.19 miles in 20 minutes which happy with. I then made tea gnocchi with red pesto, salami and feta didn't really need the salami as red pesto had a slight kick but their cooking is trial and error. Then we went to the cinema to see 'Silver Lining Playbook' which is about how life doesn't always go according to plan. Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) has lost everything -- his house, his job, and his wife. He now finds himself living back with his mother (Jacki Weaver) and father (Robert DeNiro) after spending eight months is a state institution on a plea bargain. Pat is determined to rebuild his life, remain positive and reunite with his wife, despite the challenging circumstances of their separation. All Pat's parents want is for him to get back on his feet-and to share their family's obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles football team. When Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own, things get complicated. Tiffany offers to help Pat reconnect with his wife, but only if he'll do something very important for her in return. As their deal plays out, an unexpected bond begins to form between them, and silver linings appear in both of their lives. There is some charm to the story, but the final act is very neat and predictable but basically 'Silver Linings Playbook' is an intelligent, edgy dark comedy with romance at its core. But I still enjoyed and one main reason why you should see this film, is to admire the wonderful performances from Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
Thursday woke up 6 but went back to sleep then and then when got up went for run with Debbie did 1.20 miles and pace under 9 best it's been for a while. Then we went to Rhodes for breakfast and went to 'Lily's' for a change and had poached eggs on toady was good nice runny eggs but forget tomato sauce. Then had to go to work but debbie off lucky for some i was on a late but still only had 18 patients and a few staff off sick but felt like we had more than 18 patients. On Friday on a early shift with Bianca so glad one off the staff from yesterday changed from late to early otherwise would of been very hectic. We had a MET call and there seemed to take twice as long to get jobs done as Drs just didn't seem to be listening, never a good thing. Then when got home me and Debbie off to Harbourside to go bowling as never been and sounded like fun. Kingpin Bowling Lounge at Harbourside Shopping Centre – Darling Harbour is good day or night to bowl, drink and party. With 20 state-of-the-art tenpin bowling lanes, the only indoor laser skirmish arena in the CBD and fully licensed bar set in a funky and sophisticated environment to dazzle your senses. We decided to just have a game of bowling but thought it was quite expensive was $16 each a game was fun but me and Debbie definitely not the best at it got one strike was very close but Debbie just won. It was then for food went to 'Waterfront grill' had the dinner offer which was steak and a glass of wine. We looked at sweet menu but nothing we fancied so went to McDonalds and had a McFlurry but won't as good as English ones, then home as busy day tomorrow.

Manly sealife and Shelly beach
Sunday 3rd February woke up 9.30 girls already gone for a run but couldn't be bothered going on my own. Nat's actually birthday today and she really liked her birthday present I got thought it was really special and something she can keep forever. Was gong to come with me to manly but decided against it I had to catch two trains as track work again so changed at Strathfield but then at least could get train straight to Circular Quay. Just made the ferry to Manly and first stop was a Internet cafe to print off my NMC form for notification of practice. It was then to the manly market to get Debbie's birthday present but unfortunately not their due to the bad weather. So decided would walk to Shelly beach as never been and not really sunny kept spitting on and off. At first didn't realise I had gone past Shelly beach as the waves were that big you couldn't actually see the beach and the waves were that big kept coming over side and nearly got wet. So kept walking along the foreshore past 'Oceanides' a sculpture of two sea nymphs located on the side of the rock pool at Fairy Bower Beach, in the northern suburb of Manly. The sculpture was created by Helen Leete in 1997, the Oceanides in Greek mythology were sea nymphs that were part human and part sea creature. The foreshore eventually led to Gabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve is a special area that provides protection and sanctuary for the weedy sea dragon, elegant wrasse, black rock cod and the blue grouper. It also gave lovely views off manly beach and since was good waves was quite a few surfers out so watched them for abit. I then wandered back to Manly beach going past Shelly beach again which could still not see and nearly got wet again by the waves.
When got to Manly beach still had plenty of time so decided to go to Manly sealife centre and not been and doesn't cost me anything since got merlin pass. It is a lot smaller than the one in the city as soon as you walk in is a few tanks with fish with an impressive Great Barrier Reef exhibit. Their was also one tank with a octopus in who the staff was trying to get to come out but wasn't playing. The Manly Sea Life Centre is compact yet still impressive but compared to the Sydney Aquarium and it was a completely different experience. It's smaller and less commercialised but the exhibits are of equal quality and well laid out. However, it is the ambience of the place which sells it to me. You can enjoy all the exhibits, at leisure, without constantly jostling to peer around other visitors and with space to move around. The shark tunnel is the showpiece exhibit, and home to a weird and wonderful variety of marine creatures not just sharks. Their was 'Tassie' a smooth stingray who was very big and had a sore tail was 10years old and told are actually the creatures look smaller through the glass. Also got to see some people doing the shark dive which is a unique where people come face to face with Grey Nurse Sharks, stingrays and turtles looked cool but already done. In the shark tunnel is two Grey Nurse Sharks 'Murdoch' and 'Freckles' who have been bought together to continue the successful breeding programme. It was then to see the penguin cove where you discover the colony of Manly's iconic little penguins were so cute and small and even did a little swim for us, unfortunately missed the penguin talk. I thoroughly enjoyed and will have to go back at some point to get pictures with the mermaid and the giant shark teeth. It was then time to head back and going back on the Manly ferry was abit off an experience as kept rocking side to side and would look out and all you could see was the waves, the kids loved it kept going outside to get wet. When got back couldn't be bothered waiting for train so decided to walk to central station as was fine only took 30minutes. When got back was going to go for run but got distracted sorting out my pictures so never happened. Wasn't really sure what to have for tea as not practically hungry so decided to have porridge. I then spoke to Sharon and Ellie on Skype not sure Ellie knew what to make of it and ended up shutting the laptop lid on me, charming.

Nat's birthday night out
Saturday 2nd February woke up 11.30 so not much sleep and when got up Jen just got back from UK after been home for 2weeks to see her Gran. She had kindly bought me some English chocolate my favourite ones peanut Kit Kat chunky and dark chocolate bounty as don't appear to be able to get here. Then me and Debbie went to city to meet Nat supposed to be off to Taronga Zoo but due to bad weather was cancelled. So instead meeting her at Paddington as she wanted to try a cafe there and at least I got to take her present aswell so she can open it tomorrow for her birthday. Whilst waiting looked in shop and found some nice tiger trainers but I don't really need as got so many at home. At cafe I really fancied a scone but had none left so had to make do with a muffin which was ok but would of preferred the scone. We then left I went to do some shopping went to David Jones was eyeing up bags was nice one from Coach was half very tempted. So instead bought the Nine West sandals but unfortunately not 20% off now but will go with so many off my outfits. It was then to look at more bags went to Mulberry loved the Alexa Ostrich bag only $8800 had a quick look at UK site and looks a lot cheaper will look when home. Then thought best go get some food before heading home so went to food court under Myer had beef in black bean was nice but the spring roll not the best was cold.
By the time got home was time to get ready to go out and what to wear as didn't want to wear anything too short as will be coming back be myself. Was going to wear my Kookai skirt but thought might be too short so in the end decided to wear my Kookai aqua dress which Haidee liked. So I got train to central and bus to Surreyhills as couldn't remember how far it was too walk but probably could of walked as only 2 stops away but maybe not best to start night walking far in heels. When got to Beresford Nat already there which surprised me as usually late The Beresford, Surry Hills, offers a casual neighbourhood atmosphere and modern Italian trattoria dining. There was a few out for her birthday her friend sherry had come down from Newcastle, a few from her work, Lou had hair extensions which looked very nice. We stayed downstairs in the bar for abit then went upstairs for a dance which is Inspired by some of New York’s finest live music venues. It had a live band on and the upstairs is designed to ensure that performers as well as their audience have the time of their lives. With decadent dĂ©cor, state of the art technology and a full suite of backstage amenities, Upstairs Beresford has become a firm favourite among music fans and artists alike. We had a good night but didn't drink much danced lots but lost Nat for abit who lost her bag but eventually found it had left it with her friend. The girls off to kings cross after but I decided against it as didn't really wanting to be going home on own so left at 00.30 to catch last train home.
More nights
Second week of nights but that what you get when your off duty finishes on nights and your next one starts on nights but at least doing four this time, so no short shifts. Tuesday woke up 8.30 went back to sleep til 10 girls already gone for a run couldn't be bothered going to try and meet them. So went to Rhodes to do some grocery shopping and to get a few other bits, then chilled for rest of day kept thinking was going to rain but never happened. I got my photo album today and was so happy with it which was good after all the effect I put into it. Then had to go to work only had 5 patients so nice and was fairly easy didn't need to do much from midnight til 6am. Wednesday didn't sleep well after my night woke up 11 and 12 but then eventually got up at 2.30. Chilled for abit then went for a run had to stop halfway which is never good but did 1.33 miles went with Bianca and Debbie round Bicentennial park. At work got to moved to 4 east a urology ward was 2 of there own staff so just had me floating which was nice just helped where needed and was one off our regular patients on the ward. We had one patient fall out of bed and still don't know how she managed was trying to lower bed and had it up in air was lucky didn't break anything. When went on break didn't sleep but when came back had to take over special for an hour and felt going to fall asleep as patient fast asleep. For a change I didn't eat much on my nights but their was dark chocolate blueberries which was so moorish and got to finish at 7.15 nice to finish early for change.
On Thursday I got up at 1.15 then went to city about 2ish as wanted to have shop round before met girls. I nearly bought the sandals from Nine West again but was good but did buy Ellie another birthday present which saw a few weeks ago. Whilst waiting for girls to arrive sat outside Harbourside and read my book as a nice day, when met them we went to book skydive for Debbie's birthday. As Debbie always wanted to do one and thought why not all do it for her birthday as will be an amazing experience, excited now but think will be scared on day. After that we met Sarah at town hall as coming back to Rhodes with us as off to cinema with Debbie and Bianca to see django. Unfortunately I can't go as at work again tonight but did go for food with them had burrito and smoothie from the food court. At work was annoyed as their stared handover before I arrived and I wasn't even late so missed the whole off one side. Only had 6 patients nice had to relieve meal breaks on 6 east then when came back was wide awake. When got home Sarah up so spoke to her for abit then thought best to to bed. I woke up at 1 then went back to sleep but waking up every hour or so eventually got up at 3 and was raining. Once up went to Rhodes with Debbie as she had to get food shop good job we both had umbrellas otherwise would of got soaked. I also really fancied a chocolate crepe but was shut, so instead had banana waffle at Oliver Brown. Last night on Friday and 1 staff moved so had to have 9 patients which was fine but had hourly obs for first few hours as one patient had Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) infusion running. I then had a patient complain of abdomen pain and passing urine but thought best do bladder scan and good job did as over 999mls in bladder so Dr did catheter.

Work 2 days, day off and more shoes
Saturday 26th January up early to speak home but unfortunately the connection quite bad due to them having snow at home. Then I went into the city with Debbie to get Nat's present as I knew what I wanted to get her a picture from rocks so didn't take long. Then whilst we we were in the city thought we might aswell have breakfast so went to City Extra which offers great food at circular quay and always good. It is always open which is good news open 24hrs a day 7 days a week, their serve breakfast, lunch or dinner at any time of the day. I decided to have a muesli pancake 2 Buttermilk pancakes stuffed with muesli & topped with butter & maple syrup. Were good but could of done with more maple syrup and the butter just seemed wrong the place offered superb views of Sydney Harbour. It was then time to head home as on a late today woke was ok only had 8 patients but had a few MET calls nothing serious just early blood pressure or oxygen saturations none were my patients.
On Sunday woke up at 4 got up and went to the toilet and then luckily went back to sleep til 8.30 and was raining I knew I should of bought washing in last night. I then went to the gym with the girls was busy so went on the rower and cross-trainer first then did 1.51 miles on the treadmill. Only thing is I felt so sweaty after the end of the workout think thats why I prefer to go running outside at the moment as only fans in the gym. On a late again today raining going to work and at work still only had 8 patients was ok had one clinical review as one one patient had high blood pressure which came down without any extra medications. At least when finished work it had stopped raining which was good so didn't have wet feet when got home.
Day off on Monday woke up 8.30 and looked miserable outside was going to go for run outside but cause of rain went to gym did 2.01 miles. Then when came back decided to sort internet as not been working for a day it took a few minutes but eventually working again. I then went to meet Nat in the city at 2ish Bianca was going to come but still felt tired after her nights. It was still miserable weather so wasn't sure what to wear decided to wear my leggings with my long Ugg boots and Barbour jacket. It felt like English weather but maybe not as cold was a good job I had umbrella but nearly blew inside out a few times. We met at circular quay and not sure where to eat went to Morrison's bar and oyster room on George street but was nothing we liked on the menu. So we ended up going to Bar 355 was ok only had a prawn salad so couldn't really go wrong with it. Then walked up to Myer and looked round for abit then went for a coffee and macaron at the cafe next to Myer. Nat then had to head back home so took her through David jones so she wouldn't get to wet getting to the bus stop. After she left I went to go do abit off browsing saw some nice Nine West sandals but not 100% but did have 20% off, probably should of bought. I then went and eyed up the shoes of prey sandals again and decided to buy as its not every day you get to design your own shoes and cheaper than jimmy Choo shoes.

Watson and Luna park
Friday 25th january got up 8.30 had breakfast, watched TV for abit and played on Internet then it was time to actually go do something. So me and Debbie got a multi pass as planning to go a few places today got train to city and then ferry to Watson Bay as Debbie not been yet. Watson Bay is a harbourside located on the southern head of the entrance to Sydney Harbour. To the east is the Tasman Sea and to the west is the Harbour with a glorious view of the city of Sydney in the distance. The Bay is famous for being the home of the first Doyles Restaurant. The site on which the restaurant now stands is where Doyle originally sold his daily fish catch in 1845. It's well worth the trip to Watsons Bay to eat at the restaurant or, alternatively, for a more informal meal, buy a take-away lunch from Doyles' fish and chip outlet, located on the wharf. Decided to get fish and chips from the take-away place and eat in their cafe still not sure on the plum sauce with it and had a nice glass of wine with it, dont think was as goid as last time Manly still favourite. We then had a stroll round Watson bay and it is very picturesque as on the promenade has small different coloured boats lining the top of the promenade. We then just missed the ferry back so decided to go look at 'The Gap' which is on the ocean cliff of the south head peninsula of Watson Bay. The Gap is formed from Sydney sandstone is part of Sydney National park and is a well known place for suicides in Australia.
We then got the ferry back to circular quay and then caught another ferry to Luna Park which is an amusement park located at Milsons Point on the northern shore of Sydney harbour. First was to get picture of the famous Luna park entrance which is a clown face and can see from many spots in Sydney. Then off to get our tickets and since we had a day pass we got 20% off the price so then time to go have some fun on the rides. First stop was Ferris wheel and got lovely views of the harbour so obvisiously had to take more picture even though got plenty of bridge and opera house. Next was the Tango Train which is Luna parks most popular ride which has a retro disco theme it ends you hurtling round the track first backwards then forwards. It was so much fun you think the bump is the favourite dance of anyone on the ride as the force sends you sliding into one another while you bounce around the track. It was then off to explore Coney Island as Debbie never did it next time which has some amusement and got to go down in slide in sack. We then went on the spider where got to enjoy the thrill of being thrown side to side at fantastic, then back to Luna park. Where next stop was the Tumblebug which lives up to it's name as each car tumbles around in the air, swinging from side to side while spinning on larger rotating arms, just try not to think how many times spinning or will end up really dizzy! It was then time to have a drink as was a hot day and so thirsty all this fun off going on these rides. We then got to meet all the characters Luunabob and Lunabella and felt like a big kid as had picture taken with them. It was then time to go back on the Tango Train which was just as much fun 2nd time round wasn't sure about the Flying Saucer ride so gave it a miss this time.
We then caught the ferry to darling harbour to go get something to eat decided to go to plate as we do like it there. I wasn't really sure what I wanted so went for two small plate but unfortunately it wasn't as good as normal and no puddings we fancied. So we went to Hard Rock Cafe for pudding had Apple cobbler which was a country favourite, served warm with vanilla ice
cream, topped with walnuts and caramel sauce. It was very nice but was far too much couldn't finish it all and obvisiously had to have a cocktail to wash it down with and then time to head home.

More work, drinks and nights
Saturday woke up 7.30 as speaking home to mum and dad but unfortunately the connection not the best probably due to the snow as lost connection twice. I then went to the gym with Debbie and Bianca and ran on the treadmill 3.11 miles the best I have run for a while. It was then to Rhodes for lunch went to coffee club and had potato wedges with chilli and sour cream dip was good. But then had the red velvet cake which probably didn't really need as cant full after wedge and was abit disappoint not as good as last time was drier. I then had to go to work but on a late short and work nice was very chilled even got to sit down for abit. We then decided to order food from Casa Bella and normally I have bought something but today only had soup so thought why not had gnocchi in a tomato sauce was good but couldn't eat so least my lunch sorted tomorrow. After worked offered lift home but declined as walking home with Bianca but Bianca running late typical so could of taken the lift.
Sunday 20th on an early short today nice shift but felt like no team work at first as like to discuss what doing before start. But other two just got on and did all the double washes but I suppose I was doing the S8 drug round to start with. After work was going to meet Bianca in city so we could go get Debbie's present but then realised we probably didn't have time as had to go to manly. By the time we had decided this I was already on the train but got off at Strathfield and then came back home. So came home and chilled for abit before going back to the city to meet Lou for tea went to Jackson on George for abit off pub grub. Which was nice and relaxed and not to expensive we dined indoors overlooking the hustle and bustle of George Street with a nice bottle of wine aswell. After food we went to the opera bar and shared a cocktail jug and then to the pop up bar El Loco on the western broad walk of Sydney Opera House for wine. At the side of the Opera house the pop up bar is transformed into a Mexican cantina El loco which had nice feel about it very chilled and offers one of the best views and it was a nice to get to know Lou. El Loco is actually a restaurant in Surrey hills and has come to the iconic Opera House for most of the month of January. I then caught the train home and kept nodding off and just woke up when pulling away from Concord station so had to get off at Rhodes and walk back home.
Monday woke up 7.30 to speak to Sharon but she cancelled for later on in the week but went back to sleep but woke up every hour or so eventually got up at 11. Then updated blog and watched chuck then went to meet Debbie at Rhodes after she finished work. Aim was to get Nat's present as seen something liked but it had mark on it so decided so instead got Nat and Lou a moving in present a key holder. When got back went to the gym with Bianca and Debbie but was busy couldn't get on the treadmill so did rower, cross trainer and floor workout. Bianca made tea for us all tonight meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta, I then had to go to work but at least had someone to walk with as both me and Bianca on nights, which made a pleasant change. Work busy didn't stop most of the night as had patient on hourly urine output and 2 hourly observations. I also had an agitated patient didn't sit down til 1am and then up & down most of night went on break at 4am didn't sleep.
Was so glad to get bed on Tuesday but woke up 1ish and looked like going to be a nice day sunny trying to come out when walking home but by time got up clouds came in. When Debbie finished we all went for a run outside for the 1st time as think about time and I had to loop back a few times did 1.32 miles. Then all had tea together joint effort by me and Bianca I did the roast veg for all of us and my salmon and Bianca did their steak. On another night shift and luckily not as busy as last night only had 5 patients but one patient shouting at start of night not settling wanted someone with him all the time. He eventually slept 1-4 which was good as one when we had our breaks, finished 7.20 very good nice to finish abit earlier for a change.
Wednesday woke up 11 but eventually got up at 12ish and then went to the city with Bianca. First stop was something to eat went to Max Brenner and had toasted banana bread with chocolate sauce was good will definitely have again. Then time to go looking round shops bought more presents for Sharon for her birthday and got Rachel's birthday present, how organised when her birthday not til October. Last night only doing 3 this week and was ok only had 6 patients tonight and not as busy but patient still shouting. I then had a feeling I had to go check on a patient and good job I did as had passed but was expected but family only left not long ago so person in charge phoned to let them so came back but was about 2 hours later. I had to go on 1st break which don't usually like which can see why as about 6.30 felt so tired had to splash face which woke me up a little.
On Thursday woke up just before 12 and then off to meet Sherry (girl i met at Heathrow airport when flying back to sydney in november) and her friend Sarah as off to Manly. But I just missed the ferry their were on as train appeared to be on a go slow so I caught the next ferry then met them at Manly Wharf. First stop was to Hugo's at manly which is right on the wharf and offers stunning water views and had a glass of prosecco very relaxing just what needed after nights. Was nice to catch up and her friend Sarah was from Newcastle UK their old me all about New Zealand and sounded lovely, definitely have to go. After our prosecco we walked down the corso to the beach and stopped at a cafe on route to get something to eat. Then we went and sat on the manly beach front to eat our food and watch the surfers and paddle boarders. We then walked abit down the beach front where people were playing volleyball which was quite entertaining to watch. It was then back to Manly wharf for more wine this time had sparkling wine and went to different place where we could sit outside in the sun. We then all got the ferry back to the city where we went our separate ways, I went to David Jones priced up the lovely Jimmy Choo shoes only $950ish. Think will leave it for now but definitely have to buy before I leave but might price up back in UK first but is new store in David jones 'Shoes of Prey' where you can design your own shoe so had to have a play. Was good didnt buy anything after after fun designing shoes was time to head back home.

Thunder jet and new hair
Another day off today Friday 17th January and up 8 to go the gym which was quite busy so went on rower and cross trainer whilst waiting for treadmill did 1.15miles. Then afters me and Debbie went to coffee club at rhodes for breakfast decided to try the pancakes for a change and asked for it without ice-cream as didn't really fancy it ice-cream at this time in morning. But unfortunately it wasn't the best was abit dry even though had maple syrup could of done with more syrup wont be rushing back for another one. By the time we got back Bianca was just getting up then it was time to head to the city as off to meet Sarah at circular quay and doing the thunder jet. First stop was ice-cream but didn't really fancy any since off on the ride shortly and wasn't sure what to expect. We tried to persuade Sarah to do thunder jet but with no success so just looks like us 3 doing it but at least had someone to look after our bags, i phoned to book place on the 3pm ride but didn't have our names but luckily had space. So it was off to experience what Sydney Harbour Jet Boating is all about and we got prime seat right at the front decided against wearing ponchos as thought that hot would just get sweaty. We hopped on to Sydney's Thunder jet, which had 23 seats plus one for driver and it does full 300 degree spins! Then time to get ready to hold on tight in our custom bucket seats as the Thunder jet heads up Sydney Harbour!! The 'Thunder Jet' Sydney Jet Boat Ride takes you past the Opera House, Harbour Islands (Clark & Shark), and the exclusive suburbs of Rose Bay, Watson's Bay. Then onto Sydney Heads for a taste of ocean air! On return we go past Taronga Zoo and under the Harbour Bridge, by Luna Park Sydney. Since we were at the front of the boat we got very wet as does power brakes where the water comes over the top of the boat and soaks you. It was lots of fun doing slides, twists, spins and wild wave riding to the awesome all Aussie music soundtrack!
When got out felt like a down wet but at least was a hot day was 45 degrees so could dry off but decided to get bus to Surreyhills since so hot. As me and Debbie off to have our hair done at Christopher Hanna which is Sydney's ultimate hairdressers base in surreyhills. As we bought a voucher in the city for $45 before Christmas to have hair cut, colour and treatment. When got they wasnt sure their knew we were Coming as seemed to be waiting a while, But was fine. Wasn't really sure what to expect their decided to do a semi permanent colour of chocolate brown which wasn't sure of to start off with as fancied something different. But once my hair was finished it looked very nice and liked the colour felt nice and soft since done treatment then curled just a shame not off out. Debbie decided to have a graduated bob with highlights looked very nice so she went for more off a drastic change. We were their nearly 2 and half hours mine probably only took just over an hour but Debbie's took longer since having highlights. When finished we had to pay an extra $80 but then get two more voucher to use at discount so was good value. Sarah and Bianca then came back to meet us and was straight to pub to get something to eat just had a burger. But whilst sat outside was starting to get windy so was extreme weather today as had 45.8 degrees at 3pm hottest day since 1939 then bizarre warm rain and strong winds.we then got the bus back to central and train back home got in just after 10pm.
More sunbathing, Bondi this time.
Thursday 17th day off and looked like going to be another nice day as sun trying to cone out but for some reason didn't appear that I had been paid, not sure why. Debbie at work and been paid so sent me the salary number which phoned and told not been paid as not received my time sheet so phoned NUM but in ward round so left message. Before going to Bondi went to post office at Rhodes to post John's birthday present and pay electric bill for 2 days just over $4. It was then to Bondi where it was nice hot 31 degrees good day to be on the beach and not to busy think was on beach for nearly 3days. Then felt needed refreshments so went to juice bar got a fruit juice and some banana bread, as I do like my banana bread at the minute and sat outside. I was tempted to go back to the beach as still warm but instead went to get an ice-cream from Ben & Jerry's finally tried maple tree hugger by was too sweet so just had strawberry cheesecake. I then went to look in the little gift shop to see if could find present for Nat but not sure so didn't buy anything. It was then time to head back after tea me and Debbie thought might go to cinema but nothing on so hired DVD instead 'All good things'. it is inspired by the most notorious missing person's case in New York history, All Good Things is a love story and murder mystery set against the backdrop of a New York real estate dynasty in the 1980s. It was good, but had an unsatisfying ending, which obviously can't be helped since it was based on a true story and the truth was never found out there either. I so hope Katie ran away and disappeared, but sadly it seems pretty likely she was murdered. Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling are both great here, but not sure liked Ryan Gosling as a blonde. I did feel that Kirsten really made this movie and it got duller once she disappeared, but still an interesting and creepy story. Really makes you pity what some women feel they have to put up with in a relationship. Also still not sorted out my pay but NUM is now aware and has sent off my time sheet so hopefully get paid soon, just good job still money in to pay rent.
