Monday 11th went for run this morning when got up, Debbie went before me but I still managed to catch get up only did 1.32 miles. When got back went to Coles to do some grocery shopping and been fancying almond croissant since I spoke to Sharon last and still haven't got any. Then when back I finished sorting mum's other birthday present out a photo album off me me in Australia and eventually ordered it and will hopefully arrive in time for her birthday. It was then time to go to work as on a late was a nice shift had a return patient who told me I was one off his favourite staff, nice to hear. Nothing exciting happened just a usual shift but I suppose was actually quite nice for a Monday then walked home with Debbie. Tuesday woke up 7.30 read book for abit then thought best get up so went for a run and did 2.02 miles. Then when got back had breakfast and for a change had scrambled egg instead off my usual porridge but should of had pancakes since Shrove Tuesday. I was going to go to Rhodes later for lunch for crepes, but got distracted instead watched film 'catch and release' a romantic comedy and updated blog. On a late again at work and now open to 24 patients but still not to bad had in-service today and was good bought in food. The food was cheese, nuts, crackers, sandwiches and fruit and all seemed to do was eat so when went on break didn't really want much to eat.
Wednesday on a early looked very dark when walking to work with Debbie it looked like it could rain but luckily it didn't. Work busier than yesterday and I pressed the MET call as patient became unresponsive but came round after a few seconds. We had lots of discharges and patient had cytotoxic spillage so had to dress up in the purple gear felt like an alien. One patient who said I was one off his favourite staff we discharged today has 4 mango trees so his daughter bought me a mango, very nice!! Debbie finished before me but waited for me and went to gym when back ran 2.12 miles on treadmill and did crunches. We then went for tea at Rhodes wanted crepes since never had yesterday but was shut so had to make do with oporto a Portuguese style chicken restaurant first opened Bondi in 1986. It was my first time to try and I had a chicken & cheese burger, not as good as McDonalds but mash and gravy good then had banana bread. It was then to the cinema to see 'Gangster Squad' based in Los Angeles, 1949. A secret crew of police officers led by two determined sergeants work together in an effort to take down the ruthless mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) who runs the city. It gives you everything you'd want from a good gangster movie, think The Untouchables, only not as good. Gives an overly violent portrayal of LA crime in the 1940's and the story, acting and look of the film make it good entertainment with some good eye candy of Ryan Gosling.
Thursday (valentines day) on another early and walked with Bianca to work who doing a double shift was a nice shift everything done by 2pm and was a nice team working with. Had my mango for lunch in my fruit salad which I had bought in for me yesterday was very nice not too sweet. When got home Debbie had a gift for me my 'Almond Croissants' so exciting so had to have it straight and was good.. I also had a parcel from mum and dad limited edition kit Kat chunky hazelnut and coconut can't wait to try. Then at night off out for meal at Paddington for Debbie birthday going there as never eaten their before and fancied trying somewhere different. We had to wait for Natalie to arrive was going to eat at 'Imperial' which is l located at the gateway to Paddington precinct. The Imperial has recently been refurbished and has delivered a classic Paddington Pub experience carefully blended with a range of truly unique offerings for locals and guests. But unfortunately as soon as we walked in was very busy with drinkers and the fire alarm going off and not sure how long would take. So decided to walk on abit further to see if find anywhere else ended up,at 'Paddington Inn' a boutique pub which has it all food, fine wine, beer or cocktails. It was a nice atmosphere as soon as walked and offers a range of space over 2 levels and trust Nat to know someone. We ended up sitting on the lower level and I had chilli mussels and garlic bread was good, but no finger dish to wash fingers after. Debbie wouldn't let me pay for her for her birthday and no puddings what we liked so ended up going to Max Brenner. Where we had chocolate soufflé and ice-cream was very rich but good and bought Debbie hers. Nat couldn't decide what to have and had been her idea to go there o she ended up just having a hot chocolate and we got in about 10pm.
Friday early and when got to work thought only 2 staff on our side then more staff arrived which was a relieve. Was a nice shift as only had 10 patients had another cytotoxic spillage but was a different patient and more dressings to do. When finished work went to Rhodes to price up my long weekend off in march Byron or Queenland look promising but will be about $800 for 3 nights. Then when got in went for run whilst waiting for the other two to come home from their day out for Debbie's birthday, I only ran 1.50 miles. When I their got in time for Debbie to open the rest of her presents and she knew what me and Bianca got her from packaging and think she liked my silly presents. Then Jen came round and disappeared into the kitchen with Bianca to make coffee then came out with cake with candles on and biscuits both homemade. The cake chocolate orange made by Jen her present to Debbie and biscuits by both of them a shamrock one (see picture). We then ordered pizza from domino's had wine and by time finished pizza was too late to eat the pizza so will have to leave til tomorrow. We then watched dvd 'The Campaign' about two congressmen hoping to win the upcoming election. It had some funny moments in but was not as good as I expected as thought would be more funny with Will Ferrell in.
