Saturday woke up 7.30 as speaking home to mum and dad but unfortunately the connection not the best probably due to the snow as lost connection twice. I then went to the gym with Debbie and Bianca and ran on the treadmill 3.11 miles the best I have run for a while. It was then to Rhodes for lunch went to coffee club and had potato wedges with chilli and sour cream dip was good. But then had the red velvet cake which probably didn't really need as cant full after wedge and was abit disappoint not as good as last time was drier. I then had to go to work but on a late short and work nice was very chilled even got to sit down for abit. We then decided to order food from Casa Bella and normally I have bought something but today only had soup so thought why not had gnocchi in a tomato sauce was good but couldn't eat so least my lunch sorted tomorrow. After worked offered lift home but declined as walking home with Bianca but Bianca running late typical so could of taken the lift.
Sunday 20th on an early short today nice shift but felt like no team work at first as like to discuss what doing before start. But other two just got on and did all the double washes but I suppose I was doing the S8 drug round to start with. After work was going to meet Bianca in city so we could go get Debbie's present but then realised we probably didn't have time as had to go to manly. By the time we had decided this I was already on the train but got off at Strathfield and then came back home. So came home and chilled for abit before going back to the city to meet Lou for tea went to Jackson on George for abit off pub grub. Which was nice and relaxed and not to expensive we dined indoors overlooking the hustle and bustle of George Street with a nice bottle of wine aswell. After food we went to the opera bar and shared a cocktail jug and then to the pop up bar El Loco on the western broad walk of Sydney Opera House for wine. At the side of the Opera house the pop up bar is transformed into a Mexican cantina El loco which had nice feel about it very chilled and offers one of the best views and it was a nice to get to know Lou. El Loco is actually a restaurant in Surrey hills and has come to the iconic Opera House for most of the month of January. I then caught the train home and kept nodding off and just woke up when pulling away from Concord station so had to get off at Rhodes and walk back home.
Monday woke up 7.30 to speak to Sharon but she cancelled for later on in the week but went back to sleep but woke up every hour or so eventually got up at 11. Then updated blog and watched chuck then went to meet Debbie at Rhodes after she finished work. Aim was to get Nat's present as seen something liked but it had mark on it so decided so instead got Nat and Lou a moving in present a key holder. When got back went to the gym with Bianca and Debbie but was busy couldn't get on the treadmill so did rower, cross trainer and floor workout. Bianca made tea for us all tonight meatballs in tomato sauce with pasta, I then had to go to work but at least had someone to walk with as both me and Bianca on nights, which made a pleasant change. Work busy didn't stop most of the night as had patient on hourly urine output and 2 hourly observations. I also had an agitated patient didn't sit down til 1am and then up & down most of night went on break at 4am didn't sleep.
Was so glad to get bed on Tuesday but woke up 1ish and looked like going to be a nice day sunny trying to come out when walking home but by time got up clouds came in. When Debbie finished we all went for a run outside for the 1st time as think about time and I had to loop back a few times did 1.32 miles. Then all had tea together joint effort by me and Bianca I did the roast veg for all of us and my salmon and Bianca did their steak. On another night shift and luckily not as busy as last night only had 5 patients but one patient shouting at start of night not settling wanted someone with him all the time. He eventually slept 1-4 which was good as one when we had our breaks, finished 7.20 very good nice to finish abit earlier for a change.
Wednesday woke up 11 but eventually got up at 12ish and then went to the city with Bianca. First stop was something to eat went to Max Brenner and had toasted banana bread with chocolate sauce was good will definitely have again. Then time to go looking round shops bought more presents for Sharon for her birthday and got Rachel's birthday present, how organised when her birthday not til October. Last night only doing 3 this week and was ok only had 6 patients tonight and not as busy but patient still shouting. I then had a feeling I had to go check on a patient and good job I did as had passed but was expected but family only left not long ago so person in charge phoned to let them so came back but was about 2 hours later. I had to go on 1st break which don't usually like which can see why as about 6.30 felt so tired had to splash face which woke me up a little.
On Thursday woke up just before 12 and then off to meet Sherry (girl i met at Heathrow airport when flying back to sydney in november) and her friend Sarah as off to Manly. But I just missed the ferry their were on as train appeared to be on a go slow so I caught the next ferry then met them at Manly Wharf. First stop was to Hugo's at manly which is right on the wharf and offers stunning water views and had a glass of prosecco very relaxing just what needed after nights. Was nice to catch up and her friend Sarah was from Newcastle UK their old me all about New Zealand and sounded lovely, definitely have to go. After our prosecco we walked down the corso to the beach and stopped at a cafe on route to get something to eat. Then we went and sat on the manly beach front to eat our food and watch the surfers and paddle boarders. We then walked abit down the beach front where people were playing volleyball which was quite entertaining to watch. It was then back to Manly wharf for more wine this time had sparkling wine and went to different place where we could sit outside in the sun. We then all got the ferry back to the city where we went our separate ways, I went to David Jones priced up the lovely Jimmy Choo shoes only $950ish. Think will leave it for now but definitely have to buy before I leave but might price up back in UK first but is new store in David jones 'Shoes of Prey' where you can design your own shoe so had to have a play. Was good didnt buy anything after after fun designing shoes was time to head back home.
