Blue mountains

Monday 10th December and off out with Kat today to Blue mountains Debbie coming aswell as some of Kat's friends coming Edel and her boyfriend. Before I left though I had to prepare he chicken for tonight so marinated it in a sauce of lemon, ginger, pepper and soy sauce. When Kat picked us up at 9.30 was only her as her friends decided not to come as we're out last night, but am sure we will have a lovely day just a shame not best weather. On way up to the falls had the maintenance man and air-con man phone to arrange to come so at at least my email worked which I sent last week. On way to Blue Mountains was raining lightly most of the way, first stop was Wentworth falls and luckily got a picture of the falls before the cloud came in. The Wentworth falls is one of Australia's finest bushwalking trails. Six kilometres of majestic wild scenery and waterfalls in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. We walked some of the trail but didn't have the best shoes to be doing it and didn't want to slip as going over wet stones, but we all made it back in one piece. It would be nice to do the full walking trail on a better but unfortunately not really the day for it, as couldn't see the full view of the landscape. We then drove on abit further and saw a sign for Valley of Water which was another walking trail which would take 2hours to walk so decided against it. So next was Echo Point which provides panoramic views of the blue mountains but got out then realised had to pay so decided to drive on.
Next and last stop was Scenic World at Katoomba in the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains of Australia, which offers a range of experiences found nowhere else on Earth. First we went on the Scenic Skywalk which is suspended 270 metres above the ravine where you disembarked at the Skyway's eastern station which gives you lookouts over the valley. Unfortunately the weather still not the best so couldn't see the Three Sisters until we got right to the giant stairway but decided not to go down it as probably still not get best view. Even though we never stopped at Echo Point we ended up walking round to and it would you normally get spectacular views, but not today. Then back in the Scenic Skywalk where I stood on the glass flooring which provides a unique thrill as breathtaking views are revealed beneath your feet. Kat and Debbie decided not to stand it, we also saw some people going Gangnum style at Wentworth falls. It was then time for food ordered chips and roll but roll abit small for chip buttie. Me and Debbie then went in the Scenic Cableway which is a 545 metre journey gently descending into the Jamison Valley to the Scenic Walkway, Kat decided against it as already done it. The cableways is fully enclosed cabin providing unique views of the Three Sisters, Orphan Rock, Mt Solitary and Katoomba Falls, it the steepest and largest aerial cable car. We disembarked at the bottom station to access the Scenic Walkway and strolled through some of 2.4 kilometres of Jurassic rainforest. Which is supposedly brilliant in sunshine and even better in the rain, so we picked the perfect day to see it. Along the way on the broadwalk you get to explore the coal mining history including a replica mining hut was interesting think we did about 30minute walk. We had to go back up in the Scenic Cableway as unfortunately the Scenic Railway been done up as would of been nice to go down in the steepest railway, will just have to come back to do. At least when coming back up in the scenic Cableway the cloud had cleared abit so got some pictures of the Three Sisters. Quick look round gift shop got postcards then time to head back think took about hour and half.
When got back had gardener there trimming our trees and hedges as definitely needed it and went to Rhodes quickly. When got back prepared tea having chicken and roasted veg as invited Jen round aswell was very nice even if I do say so myself. The marinated chicken was nice but next time will have to use fresh lemon not lemon juice but did the same job. Jen bought pudding but since girls still been healthy was not sure what to bring so had frozen berries and Greek style yoghurt. Realised that our Internet now working, yehhhh so spoke to Sharon on Skype at home which was so good.
