Wildlife, Sea Life centre then nights

Up at 8.30 Monday 17th December as dishwasher man coming to fix dishwasher which he did was a piece of plastic in machine, whilst here I played on Internet. Then it was off to city with Debbie got train at 11.15 and off to Wildlife centre and Sea Life centre as not the best day. We both got merlin passes which included both these attractions and other things so cheaper in long run. First was Wildlife Sydney where you find yourself on an amazing animal adventure through some of Australia's most famous locations. We got to walk through iconic Aussie habitats and encounter some of Australia much loved and feared animals. First was the kangaroo's, emu's and then again in the kangaroo walk about but couldn't touch them like at Featherdale Wildlife Park. Next was to meet Rex the hugh 5 metre male saltwater crocodile in Kakadu Gorge and watch him feeding on chicken. He weighs 500kg, is still growing is 40yrs a pisces who loves the beach and came all the way from Darwin. Then to see the creatures of the night in their nightfall habitat not that impressed as that dark so could hardly see anything. Next was to see the koalas and listen to the talk, found out some interesting facts that baby koala's called joey's when born for first 2weeks eats mums poo so digestive system gets adapted to eat leaves. Male koala's weigh 8kg and have a distinct smell whilst female ones only weigh 4kg and are only pregnant for 35days. We got to meet 3 koala's Jay who only had one eye and very relaxed, Blinky Bill who was 4years and then Aaron the baby of the bunch only 12 months who was very shy and quiet. After that was time to go not before walking past Rex again for few more pictures really enjoyed and lots to see. Next to Helm for food which overlooks cockle bay wharf it offers a nice seaside relaxation about it place was nice but food not the best had chicken schnitzel.
After food was time to go look round Sea Life Sydney Aquamarine where you get to go on a journey of amazing discovery. Whilst walking through Sea Life you get to discovery 13,000 animals from 700 species, including the worlds largest variety of sharks and rays. First was to see the platypus but unfortunately he was hiding so never saw which Debbie said is what it was doing last time. So went to see the tropical bay of rays which houses the most colourful combination of Australian rays and even had a little porthole to look at them. We then got to listen to the penguin talk which was nice and there looked so cute one wouldn't leave the food bucket kept hovering round it, very funny!! Walked past a few more fish but nothing that exciting the next exciting thing was the shark walk and shark valley a new ocean tunnel walk through. Where you get to face your fears as you walk amongst some of the worlds biggest aquarium sharks like lemon and grey nurse sharks and their live in there own shipwreck. Then to see the bizarre but beautiful dugongs 2 of only 5 on display in the world. The dugongs are Pig who is 14years old and Wuru who is 8 years old both were rescued after been orphaned. A dugong is related to the manatee is often referred to as a 'Sea Cow' as is the only marine mammal that is a herbivore and is more closely related to elephants than dolphins or whales. There are very cute, munching away at the seagrass and coming up for air every few minutes in their underwater viewing tunnel. Then time to touch a starfish, dress up an sea diver and walk over glass platform with fish swimming under look at teddies. And then time to have something sweet to eat went to Lindt and shared the sharing platter was very nice but didn't have hot chocolate this time, as abit too much last time. It was then time to head home to get organised for my nights but only doing three this time.
